Picked up ARN51-745 today from Grays Welshpool. Absolutely stoked with her. Dropped her into my local licencing centre this afternoon. Fingers crossed she gets through the inspection and I have some nice shiny WA plates on her tomorrow arvo.
Regards Warrick.

How did it go?

Well in short -  I am not screwing on the new WA license plates unfortunately.

A few small issues to rectify and I should have not been so confident as I have gone through this process before with other vehicles and it is always a bit of a mission. A couple of oil leaks to fix. One at the rear of the gearbox, a small leak from the power steering rack and a leak from the back of the alternator. Also the high beam indicator light on the dashboard is not working and the demister fan is not operational (seized lever from what I can see). Oh and I need to fit a WA approved engine immobiliser (ridiculous but it wont be licensed without it) . So this weekend looks like a busy one. Hopefully once sorted it will go straight through.

Might be after a bit of advice as I investigate these issues a bit further.

Regards Warrick.

For an easy immobiliser you could run the edic fused circuit through a alarm remote relay kit. Not sure if that will be good enough for rego but it would be piss easy. Seems a bit stupid you have to do this though.

Thanks BadCo for the tip. I have to use a Western Australia approved immobiliser so I am just going to play ball with the "system" and go through the process. All part of the journey of owning and licensing a Perentie. "Enjoy it", I heard someone say! Looking forward to getting through the red tape part of the journey though.

Regards Warrick.

The imobilser will still need to switch or disconnect something that will stop the engine from starting. So your WA approved immobiliser can still utilise the edic circuit. Unless of course there are other requirements I am unaware of :)

Went to the transport department,  :P :P :P :P :P :P

45mins later I have a rego for a double cab 6x6.

On the previous matter of down plating the GVP, and the complete lack of knowledge on this subject by both compliance's and transport, I utilised the service of a chap who's does all our Imported vehicles, also used to work in ACT for the department who is responsible for ADR in Australia.

Even QLD transport are now saying you can't down plate a 6x6, don't listen to them, however some people are stating that a S1 plate is all that is required, its not without a S2 plate also, you are not covered by your Insurance, basically its a waste of money obtaining the S1, you would do so at your own risk.

So a flat tyre to change and its off to the tip in the morning. Cant wait.

Congrats justin, but i'm curious about why you can't wait to take something to the dump. Is there a weighbridge there or something?
