Kitchen Trailer - Information requested
« on: November 06, 2016, 04:23:46 PM »

Chasing any information on the kitchen trailer - EMEI, manuals, instructions for use - specifications - literally any information available would be greatly appreciated.

Here's hoping - thanks in advance ..... ;)

Hi Frank

Which trailers are you discussing?  The Haas Sohn Mobile Kitchen or the WWII Wiles Cookers?

The Haas Sohn has its own page on the REMLR website: http://remlr.com/trailer-kitchen.html There is a link to the Manufacturer's brochure http://remlr.com/documents/kitchen%20brochure.pdf or you could try the manufacturer/agent who were in Auburn.

The other option would be to contact Muddy or Col. Coleman who both own one of the trailers.

Thanks Diana - I am looking at the Hass Sohn trailer  I have had a reply from Muddy who has sold his trailer.
 :D
If you know of any person with a canvas cover or other attachments this knowledge would be greatly appreciated..  I have checked out Remlr for information, but are probably looking in the wrong place. I have seen the links.

Thank you again.

Hi Frank

George and Mike Edwards from Ballarat had one of the kitchens, sadly both have passed on.  If you Know Simon A (the body builder who makes repro command car bodies for WWII Dodge weapons carriers), he may know what happened to the Edwards' kitchen trailer.

I think the "Simon A" mentioned by Diana is Simon Allen, a military vehicle restorer/ panel beater from the Castlemaine area in central Victoria. His mobile phone number is 0407 818 378.
Hope this helps, Steelo

Question to the brains trust ....   ???

I have been searching for Hamilton Industries in Auburn NSW and they are very hard to find.  [actually no listing whatsoever] The reason is the Haas Sohn HSK Mobile Field Kitchen information.  The Remlr 2 page sheet is very good but I am really trying to get an operations manual and other detailed information including spare parts lists.  Any information greatly appreciated and desperately sought.  Thanks to Dodgeguy1942 too!

Additional question without notice -

I notice the CES listed for the kitchen trailer refers to "COMPLETE EQUIPMENT SCHEDULE FOR ACCESSORY-MAINTENANCE KIT, TRUCK, UTILITY, LAND ROVER SERIES 2, 12 volt electrical system" under "010588 Mobile Kitchen trailer" -

In chasing information on - 010588 - Mobile Kitchen Trailer - Does anyone know where the CES for the kitchen trailer is?  - or are they one in the same?  Considering all things military - I think not?    :-\

Dear all, et al,

Still chasing any information on the Mobile Field Kitchen Haas Sohn 214A/250A.  I see in the REMLR member list -  Michael F 275 has one????   ;)  A big thanks too to Trent (Dodgeguy1942) for much help.   :)

Michael if you are on line and can help - I'd be very much obliged.

There must be a manual and other documents out there ... somewhere, but extensive web searches are not showing anything available.  The original manufacturers of the trailers, Hawthorn Industries Pty Ltd in Auburn NSW appear to no longer exist.

Haas Sohn still manufacture heaters in Germany but do not have any more mobile field kitchens listed.   :(

From the web searches REMLR is still the best source of information.   Help!

Thanks Geoff - great info - I will try AULRO, I am a member but find REMLR more relevant to be in so many ways.  Appreciate the help.  I am now chasing parts as I have a KFM trailer in atrocious condition with many bits missing.
Thanks again  Frank

Thanks glbest - I have been trying to get as much information as possible.  I found out the project in 1985 was for 44 KFM (light) field kitchen trailers for a cost of $1.74M from Hawthorn Industries, NSW.  I hope to post the story of the refurbishment of the trailer some time soon. My AAC unit loves the trailer as the speed and ease of preparing meals makes things so much easier and food quality is brilliant.   Might have to cater a REMLR event at some stage?
