What I did today in my Perentie

Last week I completed the semi-full repaint of 48-666, looks much better however I'm sure one day I will do the tan as well. Gotta give it to them, painting big camouflage blobs is harder than you think!

Thanks Carzee. I just checked out those links you provided me with. Very interesting reading. Do you know if the Lucas inspection light socket on the Perentie's is fused? After reading the link you provided to the UK forum some contributors said it was an infused constant power source and probably should have an inline fuse added to protect any accessories that are powered from the point.
My other question/dilemma is should I keep the point original and purchase some Lucas pins and make up an adaptor to a USB or cigarette lighter socket or should I just remove the Lucas socket and put a cigarette lighter socket in behind the fuse box on the left side of the dash? Not sure what is the best option. Appreciate any ideas from forum members if any one has converted this point. I am just wanting a setup to charge my phone and power an inspection light and maybe a couple of other accessories.

The dash area gets wet thru the front flaps, thats why I didn't put anything there. The loom line to the red n black points comes via the main fuse box then I put a blade fuse in the console as well. I just disconnected the wires from behind the red n black females and let them be, looks original.

Wayne's GS had just been fitted with a ROPS up the back and we have both brought Red Arc for aux batteries and some big green Lego this week.

Wayne has the 550 wide x 900 long x 310 high footlocker, sized to fit on the floor between the seats of a GS.

I am trying out different combos to see what suits my gear best. All these interlock just like Lego.
I have 550 wide x 1100 long x 450 high (big green Lego block), 550 wide x 1100 long x 225 high (half a big Lego), and 550 wide x 550 long  x 225 high (quarter of a big Lego).

Hey Warrick, here is an idea I blatantly stole from (I think) Mick Marsh, or was it Dervish?!



Its a surface mounted double outlet avaliable in a number of combinations from Narva, mounted on the left hand side of the plastic cover (opposite side of the red/black plugs).

Thanks Badco. That is exactly what I want to have to charge my phone and run a couple of other bits and pieces. Did you use the feed that supplies the Lucas 2 pin off the fuse box or did you run a new power supply from the battery? Any photos of the plugs installed In your dash?

To be honest, mounting it is as far as I have gotten haha. I was planning on using the Lucas circuit as mine is already fused.

Although I do have a fuse block waiting to go in, aaand I have spare fuses after upgrading the glass fuses to blades.

Finally put the RFSV back together, complete with new Canvas, looks very nice, got the ambulance working, and went for a spin ( thanks dave for the tech advise today )

Next job, fix the leaking roof on the double cab.
