Hi, not sure if any of you have this problem, but I've found the straps attached to the canvas not very pliable and quite stiff and combine that with the existing plastic buckles, rather hard to put tension on, particularly if you only have a veeeery short end to play with, which is exactly my problem up in the canvas at the front.
This is how my straps looked and damned if I can get an easy purchase to tighten it up and take the slack out of that sucker...

A quick trip to a marine shop (and possibly available at a hardware or specialty store too) found that the straps on the Perentie were standard size to those available off the shelf at the store.
There are several configurations you can buy and the quickest and simplest was this open ended male/female clip connected with a couple of meters of strap on one end that could be simply cut off and heat sealed on the end, giving me a chance to pull the old strap through further and now being able to control adjustment of the roof tension.
