Dodgy Bros TRE seals
« on: February 26, 2013, 10:03:45 PM »
I have recently replaced all of the steering rod ends on my S1 and S3 only to find that they have disintegrated, whilst parked inside  >:( Just as bad were the steering relay seals and the expander boot on the handbrake - none of these rubbers ever got used before self-destructing!

What I would like to know from you is any success you have had with new rubbers and where did you buy them from. It is probably not a good idea to name the businesses that sell dodgy rubbers.

I replaced my relay box seals with ones from a bearing shop; so far so good but I will let you know in a year's time,

Cheers Charlie

I don't know if the seals originally sold in Australia were a different compound, but must say that a number of door and vent seals I've acquired from the UK over the years almost seem to melt into a gooey mess after a couple or three years.
