Says here tare weight for Ambo is 4650 kg
Thanks for the link - I have not seen this before. I'm not sure who the right person is, but the REMLR info for the 6x6 models needs to be updated to reflect this - as it is sitting at the numbers I quoted for all 6x6 variants.
My Air Defence tares at 3900 kg, I think the Ambo will tare heavier.
Thanks, this info is very helpful.
Watch for Ambos for overweight ratings.
makes hard to bring down load rating for
normal rego.
just a point.
Good point. I have given this little thought. Hopefully the red mist stays at bay near auction close.
3,650 / 5,600; TARE/GVM as they come; room for stuff = 2 tonne.
3,450 / 4,500; TARE/GVM with some bits stripped and downrated = 'normal rego' = 1 tonne payload. Which is little crazy because I'd buy it only to load up and go walk-about. The GS carries that much (but no luxurious hard body on the back!).
If you want a 6x6, get your LR license and be done with it.
If you are worried about the rego cost of a light truck, perhaps a 4x4 would better suit.
For the record I'm not worried, already have a GS, and agree that LR licence and plated GVM are the only way to go if stepping up to 6x6.
