Wow, bargains galore!
$12k for a bomb proof vehicle or SFPV! Just-wow!
Sadly, it wasn't an armoured Mack R wrecker otherwise I'd have been there.

Happily take a mog recxovery vehicle myself, but a word of caution, don't expect to use them commercially. I'm working with a bunch of govt types on heavy recovery stuff at present, and changes to legislation are coming.  Department of Transport WA have looked at them already and said they won't be licensed in this state. I believe the same is the case for NSW.

The rims are split like 16 inch blitz rims but with fine threads on the studs that hold the rims together. You have confirmed what I have always thought that the trailers came from the factory with 9.00-16 tyres......
Ken
This may seem like a strange question, but are the rims Aluminium or Steel? They look to have the same number (16) of "studs that hold the rims together" as the Ferret alloy rims. Blitz only have 8, but are steel rims.

Finally got to check and the rims are are steel .

I dropped into AFM on Saturday.... I only looked at the 4x4's. A few nice ones and they all come with a recent Army tech inspection report. None of the 4x4 are rebuilds. I think one 6x6 (without canopy) may be.

FYI, some spanker was opening the brake resevoir lids and leaving them partialy open.... Hard to tell unless you looked closely. The ones I found were on lots # 16 & 19.

I told management, but its something to check when you pick one up.

Cheers.

Hmmm ... can't account for such behaviour .... the world is full of 'em it seems

Hopefully people will do their "A" service before they drive off and see stuff like that  - but we know many won't and/or won't expect to.

Thanks for the forewarning for potential buyers, Pete.

Would anyone who attended the inspection today be willing to make comments on the 6x6 ambulances?

It would be great to hear from someone that has pawed through the steelwork and could comment on any corrosion? I assume that with a blue slip, the roadworthy dependant components would all be corrosion free, but from my previous experience, some items 'slip' through...

From pics, of engine bay, and outer panels, Lot 10 looks to have had a hard life for 19,000 on the ODO, and has no service book (from comments). Where would have she been deployed? And based?

Thanks in advance. Isaac

Watch for Ambos for overweight ratings.
makes hard to bring down load rating for
normal rego.
just a point.

Good point. I have given this little thought. Hopefully the red mist stays at bay near auction close.

3,650 / 5,600;  TARE/GVM as they come; room for stuff = 2 tonne.

3,450 / 4,500; TARE/GVM with some bits stripped and downrated = 'normal rego' = 1 tonne payload. Which is little crazy because I'd buy it only to load up and go walk-about. The GS carries that much (but no luxurious hard body on the back!).

I don't think so. Someone can do the numbers, but I think 26 in service to start with ?

Cheers
