It appears to be for sale privately at the moment.  The add has a photo of its service book with its ARN written on it - So I'm assuming that's correct.

I've got no idea of its disposal details.

Pete

Assuming this is the ad, If I am right this is the ARN No. 48791

I think that's a fair statement.
Do you think 48002 will go to a private collector or someone who doesn't appreciate it ?

Expensive way to get some Series 2A Tailights!:

http://www.graysonline.com/lot/0043-5021796/transport-trucks-and-trailers/mbo-low-bed-2-ton-trailer-02-1967

ARN 108-390

MBO is the code for the Government Ordnance Factory (as it was then) in Bendigo. Nowadays, it is known as Thales Bendigo, the birthplace of the (ADI) Bushmaster vehicles. Should try to get this info across to the register.

Fascinating. 28 of those in that ARN section. Were they for rolling CP/HQ Staff, paymaster, stores control, range control, sigs/comms/mail, Survey Corps...

I have chassis # 6 and it would appear to have been a kitchen, it has COUNTRY KITCHEN stencilled  on the rear tailgate.

It has 85 stencilled on the Tac plate, maybe it was used by 85 trucks. Mine has a camo paint job, a covered in tin roof also camo .

I have no idea what the ARN is, the previous owner has misplaced the paperwork from where he bought it at auction in Brisbane in the nineties.

They are a beautiful well made trailer. Also thanks for clearing up the MBO manufacturer. I have only found one photo on the net of a canvas covered trailer or an uncovered one for that matter.

Thanks Ross, I thought that ARN was something I would never get. It is 1967 and it has 8.25-16 tyres same as the auction one. The rims are split like 16 inch blitz rims but with fine threads on the studs that hold the rims together. You have confirmed what I have always thought that the trailers came from the factory with 9.00-16 tyres, so thanks for the huge amount of help with the jigsaw puzzle of info.
