Can anyone tell me the history of the tray back on this RAAF 6x6 Cargo (awning to sides and rear)?

Wow, well spotted!
That would be a mean camper if you put the 2 sides out and the back up. Don't worry, I'm not going to bid - nowhere to put it!!!

That chassis looks like it's been re-galvanised, I suspect a Tenix rebuild. The log book needs looking at.

Perhaps the ARN listed as 200238 might confuse things. But MC is right, 200-238 is an Army ARN. The 200 series were originaly purchased to carry the Parakeet comms system. The 6x6 crew cabs are another example - they were purchased for Parakeet only and are in the 200 series.

Cheers.

Gday all,
Does anyone know how "incomplete and not operational" the 6x6 engines are?
Any news from the last ones auctioned?
Thanks,
Paul.

Mate, unless you can hear it running you would have to consider there is something wrong with it and bid accordingly. I am astounded what some people are paying for these engines not knowing what condition they are in.I know someone who purchased one from the last auction ( well over 2K) and it had a spun crank bearing so it's going to cost a considerable amount to fix as you can't grind the turbo engine crankshafts, and I can imagine what a new tufftrided crank would cost!!

Surely you would assume that if it wasn't a new engine it was removed for some reason...

The army tend to be very regimental about things, you don't just dump a engine on a old pallet if it was any good, it would be on a engine frame, and if reconditioned would say that on the engine tags.
