Thanks for the pointer but I haven't been able to find anything on AFM's website. I must be doing something not right.
DS

Sorry check out REMLR web page (not the forum) and go to the registrations page then perentie ARN's it will have a complete list and details of all the ones sold to date

Wow!!! Thanks again.
It's surprising that certain types such as air defence are all gone but others are almost untouched.

Hello All,
I was wondering if anyone has had any issues fronting up for registration with a manufacturer's letter as opposed to a proper compliance plate?

They have a compliance plate no need for a letter from LRA :)

There a couple of thousand already registered so no problems with the comp plate

I think Disco Stew is referring to the fact that in some Perenties the compliance plate is in fact missing and a letter from LRA is relied upon for proof of compliance.

If registering inNSW, the ones I have seen come with a blue slip, the RMA don't sight the vehicle so there should be no issue.

I have not seem many without a plate but as they are already on the system a letter should not be a problem :D

I know a bloke who rego'd one with an LRA letter in Tassie and there was no problem at all.  (no, not me).

None are on 'the system' down in Tassie.   Each and every one has to have it's vin checked over the pits and then you take the paperwork to Service Tas and all hell breaks loose, as they can't find the vin on their system.  Service Tas then ring the Transport dep't and get said boffin to enter it into said system.   Boffin then rings you directly and tells you it's OK to rego.   Takes about an hour for this little dance to end, meanwhile, after actually listening to the staff of Service Tas and going home to wait for the call ... expected to be tomorrow ... to find on your return that said boffin has already left you a message on your talking type telephone machine ... nice day for another drive, I thought!    You don't want to know what I really thought, do you??

I reckon whoever you take it to in Qld to get a safety certificate will have a fit when they find out there's no compliance plate - letter or otherwise. There is always a way around these kinds of hassles though.

I took a vehicle to get a rego check done in nsw  and when the mechanic lifted the bonnet there was no compliance plate. Can't register this mate. I told him that I had some panel work done and the repairers hadn't replaced the plate.
Well no problem then he says we'll make a new one. So out of his box of tricks he gets a blank plate and puts all the details in off the rego papers.
That'll be fifty bucks thanks

Did the job though.

Next question. Let's say all the planets align and I manage to get my hands on a 6x6 how many hoops do I have to jump through to get three seats in the back complianced in the smart state (or that's at least what my number plate calls Queensland)?

You'll need to get a VASS engineer to have a look at it. He'll then tell you what modifications need to be done, if any.
He then issues you with a blue modification plate.

Sounds simple. Let us know how you go.

Looking at the RFSV offerings at Welshpool, I've noticed that most don't have any air compressor, so my question is ... what did the operators use to re-inflate tyres?   I know that this isn't all that relative to this thread, but, I'd like to know why the compressors are missing.

Cheers,  Daryl.
