3 Ex Militry rigs spoted driving in Vic..
« on: October 31, 2012, 06:41:11 PM »
G'day all :)
In the last month I've spoted 2 Land Rovers and an International out and about.
Just curious if anyone knows them.

The first I've seen 2 or 3 times on High Street in Epping.
Possibly a Parente, it has 2 jerry cans behind the drivers door receced into the panels.

The second was a very tidy 101 heading up the Calder Highway on the Woodend bypass.

The third I spoted today was a International, maybe a Mark 4 at the quick look I got.
It was inbound on the Ring Road around Tullamarine (passing Catapillar), I was outbound.
The cab had a yellow flashing light on the roof.
The tray was possibly origional though the sides where red, maybe ex fire service?
The thing that stood out was the small Highab crane on the rear of the tray.

All 3 where on private plates, not historic so they be in regular use.
Sorry, no photos as I was driving and taking pictures while steering 57ton of truck is frowned on, so I'm told.

Hard top? Possibly one of the Td5 Defenders that were auctioned off.

That would be the fellow from Harcourt. It's ex-UK army. A very nice looking example.
