Condition, originality and records more important than price. Cheers.

Still looking in case anyone is wondering...

No leads yet, and no Land Rovers in upcoming Pickles auctions unfortunately.

Hopefully there's nice ex-51st FNQ RFSV out there somewhere that wants a new home back in north Queensland  :)

Cheers

Thanks heaps  :)

Is anyone heading down to have a look... can't tell too much from the pictures, apart from noting most of the kit has been unbolted and loaded in the back?

And is "non-compliant - VIN & Chassis don't match" a problem come time for QLD rego or an indication of a troubled history?

There is a post on here that suggests 51-744 was written off.  I was a little unsure if 51-774 or 51-744 was written off from the post.
The photobucket photo is no longer clear but if it is the RFSV being auctioned this month it was in a very bad accident.  The original author of the post may confirm.

The FFR i picked up from the last auction said the same thing, but they do match. I'd get someone to check.

Good luck.

Hmmm... the badly damaged vehicle in the image definitely has the 51-774 plate, and is pre-upgrade. Certainly doesn't look like a rebuildable vehicle.

This lot has a VIN ending in 800208 which suggests it is 51-744 and hopefully not 51-774 back from the dead un-bent and upgraded.

Noticed as well that GVM is stamped as 3200KG. When did the RFSV's change to 3600KG?

RFSV had two GVMs, both 3200 kg and 3600 kg depending on the vehicle.  The vehicles with 3200 kg had seating for 2 on the compliance plate and the ones with 3600 kg had seating for 3 as one point of difference.

I thought the one in the earlier post looked too bad for a rebuild so was hoping it was 51-774 but I couldn't make the photo clear enough to read the plate I cant seem to see all photobucket hosted photos properly.
I didn't mean to scare anyone off but I might use that tactic for a future auction.....

Good luck if you are bidding, my RFSV is my favourite vehicle purchase and the good wife says I don't need another vehicle.

Won't the mod's to the chassis (cutting air lift mounts off) make it difficult to re-attach the can and wheel holders?

I thought the RFSV had an additional tab on the air lift bracket to secure the wheel holder...

I hate they keep cutting them up. No lawful/logical reason to do it!

Did anyone happen to look at this RFSV (Lot 30) during the viewing days?

Pickles really does a poor job supporting interstate bidders, with inadequate photos, bonnet tools and mounts missing, mission kit unbolted and tossed in the back where it can't be checked but can happily scratch up the bins, and mutilated air lift mounts.

Probably a good reason for all this, but Gray's always seemed to be able to keep the vehicles original and intact, and to clearly photograph them for sale.

Hi all, just closing the loop on this thread...
I've been lucky enough to acquire a nice, low mileage RFSV.
Navigated the registration process yesterday with no issues.
Cheers  :)

Pickles do an awful job for interstate bidders...

Was a nice vehicle. Shame about the air lift mounts but it looks like they'll all be that way from now on, except for what you might call a 'hero' vehicle. Lot 1 in this same auction was all original but not given a blue slip.
