Dear all -

I have been speaking with Ralph about the availability of supply of new Inter side windows (Not sure if they fit all ACCO versions but when I do, I will let you know) - these will be made available for members. Ralph is coming back to me with details and some options as the windows will be difficult for him to package and transport.  It is my thinking that when this is all sorted out I will make them available at cost to those needing same.  When this is determined, I will post the results on the forum for the information of members.  Thanks to Dianna for her ongoing help too!

Hi Frank

I'd be happy to pick them up and store for a little while, but space is tight

Diana - That would be fantastic - if it is not too much trouble. I have a man in Sydney who is not far away, but upon reflection, the windows will end up going to REMLR members anyway and since most members are further away from Portland than are closer to it your wonderful suggestion makes the most sense.  When I have secured this with Ralph - I will let you know.   ;)

A very generous offer,  thank you.

Hi Frank

Just let me know when. On the other two issues, both are goers, we just need to touch base with each other.

On the Mk3 screens, was talking to Hilton Pollard and he now has 4 pair of Mk3 screens (LH and RH) which are the stock from Ralph at EClearances and the screens Hilton already had. Hilton's contact (02) 4565 0212

Hi Diana,  et al,  I have been able to obtain 10 of window glass - Now the challenge is to interpret the numbers on the packaging for the windows - 859063-R1    251066018 7946     42410056  date? 5-8-84.  If you are 99% sure they are side windows that's a certainty for me!  Question one is will they fit F1 as well as Mk3 inters?  ::)

I have organized to pay Ralph and will liaise with him and you as to what is the most convenient for all as regards pick up - he is not in a hurry and is very easy to get along with as you know.

My next challenge is to source the main front window mounting rubbers for both front windows as mine are very perished.  These are the holding rubbers to mount the glass into the frame.  Opps  ???  forgot to mention  - this is for the F1 project not the Mk 3.  Question 2  - Any suppliers for these glass mounting rubbers anyone might suggest I contact?  I have located supplies of new door to cabin sealing rubbers and front opening windscreen sealing rubbers from Clark Rubber.  I am really impressed by your Mk3 too Diana.

Excellent work there, Diana.
It was looking rather sad in the chook shed at one stage but looks new now.
I have located supplies of new door to cabin sealing rubbers and front opening windscreen sealing rubbers from Clark Rubber.
What is the part number for this rubber?

859063-R1 is shown as a side window (up and down one) for the both the MK4 and F1/2/5's.
2510 66 018 7946 is the NSN for the same. No idea what the 42410056 is.
I can't help you with whether or not they also fit the MK3. I've never seen a parts list for one. I'll have a look on mine and see if there are any identifying numbers though.

That windscreen rubber is going to be harder. It's listed as an ADEV part. 0.52"w x 0.58"h x 103.5"long.
Probably the easiest thing might be to take a piece into one of the rubber specialists like Purple Pig or maybe Rare Spares.

Greg.

Thanks Greg - talk about a font of knowledge, between you, Diana and Mick there's a library of knowledge.  The access to accurate knowledge makes the restoration so much easier.

I will try those suppliers, and thanks to you I now know the correct dimensions.  I spoke with Hilton today - a gentleman.

Let me know if you want any rubber as I can order extra - no worries -

Frank  :)

I can confirm that 859063-R1 is also the glass for the the Mk3.

I have a poor copy of the Mk3 RPS but it is missing the LH column (item number) and part of the second column (description), so you can't identify the part from the item number.  What I have to do is identify the part or similar part in the Mk4 RPS and use the RH end of the description to find the line in my Mk3 book.

I have asked the originator of the copy if I can borrow the original and make a new copy of it.  The problem seems to be that the RPS is foolscap size in landscape so I'll have to find an A3 scanner and then edit the size of each image.

John

I guess its the luck of the draw when you advertise and must admit I rarely go to Gumtree and even ebay unless someone tells me there's something of interest.

Perhaps you should run a list of what you still have in the advertising section and then we can have an idea of what you do have instead of individual questions.

I  know that at  one point I bought a roof panel but it was Mk4 and mine is an early contract Mk3 so the gutter is different.  I then passed the roof on to a friend with an F1 which a much greater need of a roof.

Does anyone know if Frank will be going to Corowa?

I need to load my Mk3 onto the S-line this weekend and want to know if I need to also load the 10 side screens that Frank purchased.

Otherwise is there someone who would be prepared to carry 10 glass screens closer to Portland Vic for Frank to pick up?

Diana
