Help Id hf or Vhf radio antenna
« on: May 25, 2016, 05:50:09 PM »
I need help on this, as this is the antena that belongs to 112 502.If we can work it out it may lead to the correct radio and solve some of the mystery holes. I could be Military or Civy and would have been long rang being a survey l/r that works  in remote areas.

Ok we have a new problem so where does the radio go, my guess is in this photo where the 4 holes in a rectangle and the 2 holes on angle. Next question what type of radio, PRC-77 with a table maybe can you help.

Tony,

I wouldn't discount the 77 set, but given the role of this vehicle and that it operated in possibly remote locations, I would have thought a civy HF Codan (or equivelant) would have been used. It would have been easy to install crystals for military freqs...   all speculation, but I have seen it done LCM-8's for similar reasons.

Cheers,

Pete

Thanks AGAS 5 but if that case where does the antena go as the which I thought was the antena is in fact the tirfor winch handle strorge area, strange place for a handle.

I just had a thought...  is there any indication on the vehicle of it being fitted with a 24v system ? ie, for military radios.
