Vintage Wiring Harness
« on: April 14, 2015, 08:26:19 AM »
Hi everyone pulled out the new wiring harness for 112 502 made by Vintage Wiring Harness, dad bought the harness back in 2003 but I'm  very confused on the instruction that is given (it also looks like front part only but says 109"). any ideas (help) on how to read this instruction more clearly.

Cheers Anthony (tony) 368 Egretz

I bought one of those harnesses for my 2A a couple of years ago. Thrilled when I saw it but just the opposite when I tried to install it. I agree, the instructions are the pits  but on top of that I found some connectors were the wrong size, the leads to the back of the instrument panel were too short (I had to put extensions on them all), some parts of the loom did not appear to be there (I have extra wire running all over the place) and some parts were not relevant.

If I knew then what I know now I figure I would have been better off spending my money on a large number of spools of different coloured wire and wiring as per the circuit diagram.

All I can suggest is follow the circuit diagram and try to find wires that will fit between components. Not much help, I know.

Good luck.

An automotive cable supplier I stumbled across on the web.
http://www.rapidcables.com.au/auto-cable/

Might be useful for those making their own harnesses.
