Army Tent Thread
« on: February 04, 2015, 09:28:28 PM »
This is a WW11, Korea, Vietnam era tent and photos of tent pole sizes

Canvas is a heavy Flax material

Ridge pole is hardwood, looks like a fiddleback Redgum
Poles are Oregon

Stencil reads, 1953 GV Mulder (a canvas maker in Melbourne)

Regards
Scott

Thanks Scot.I had made the posts 7ft and the ridge pole 12ft.Hopefully the wind dies down enough to set it up over the next few days.I will then modify to suit.

 Nice pick up Craig,

They are easy to erect and a great size .

Good luck with it , at that price you can’t go wrong.

Cheers,

Mick

What a great buy!  I'll see what I can chase up for you - the bags are hard to find!  I can send pictures though.    STDDIVER

you will have to get the bag made up from canvas maker

as they would demand the canvas seperately as a replacement item

Tim Vibert at Empire disposals and trading has canvas tarps and tent bags on his website. Quite reasonable too...
