Help ID markings

Afternoon all
After removing some paint layers, discovered this on the rear RHS (LHS has standard 1 Div marking)
May I ask what would this look like in colour and what unit

40 was the universal number for a divisional headquarters, or headquarters of divisional arms and services -

Black for Div HQ and odds and ends like the defence and employment platoon
Red/Blue horizontally divided for HQ artillery
Blue for HQ engineers
White/Blue horizontally divided for Signals, numbers in red
Red/blue/red in vertical strips for HQ div supply and
blue/yellow/red in horizontal strips for HQ EME.

All with white numerals except Sigs

For 1 Div I don't think HQ RAA and HQ RAE exist anymore, possibly none of the others either except Div HQ and probably 1 Comd Spt Regt uses the old Sigs plate being that it was based on 1 Div Sig Regt anyway.

I don't know if the Army still uses the coloured signs now.

The service record only covers 2002 onwards when it was Tenix'd. The only Army info is an inspection done in 2012  by AWMA Tech Spt Bn. ( apart from a few years ,2003-2004, at MEOMS EDN- so some RAAF heritage, but the tac plates may predate RAAF service)
Do you know what AWMA stand for at all?

From what I know of the soil around Woomera I think this old girl spent a bit of time in the SA outback as all the dirt that I have cleaned out is very red in colour.

Now to track down some in-service pictures of 49-010.

Hi budgie,
I have been reliably informed that 1 Sig Regt is still functioning and that it is not related to the 1 Comd Spt Regt I mentioned in the last post. So a red 40 on white over blue background is still an option.

However, correct me if I be wrong.  If we are talking later vehicles would not the the plate be left in subdued colour.
Black print on OD Background.   Coloured Tacs are obsolete unless you are going for effect maybe.

When did the coloured plates become obsolete or no longer used? We don't see many down here in Tas anyway but I wasn't sure if that was because we haven't got much Army left here or they had abolished the colour. DRTI does just mention black on camouflage.
