Back to the Series 2 C/R, re the tin top bolted to the hoops, they are not the original hoodsticks, it is a frame made up to suit the job, check the image looking at the inside rhs

http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/macclesfield/cars-vans-utes/series-2a-ex-army-land-rover-2-vehicles/1016112695

Series 2A Ex Army Land Rover- 2 vehicles
$8,500.00 Negotiable
Macclesfield SA 5153

1963 Series 2A, short wheel base ex australian military Land Rover

ID plate in vehicle states:Truck Utility 1/4 Ton GS Land Rover 88 inch WB

Engine is a 2.25 litre 4 cylinder original land rover motor.

Very original condition, body and chassis in good condition. Canvass genuine military issue, is very high quality and is in very good condition. Made by Mulder and Sons in Victoria. This is a rare item and can only be replaced by reproductions (that dont have the military markings).

This vehicle is a real original piece of Australian military history. These vehicles are getting harder and harder to find (especially in running order). The registraion of ex military vehicles web site states that there is less than 20 of this model Land Rover still registered and running today. It will only increase in value, and is a genuinely regretfull sale.

This sale also comes with another 88" 1964 ex military series 2A Land Rover. This vehicle could be restored, but was purchased for its parts (good insurance). The chassis and bulk head on this vehicle are in great condition and has many useful spare parts that are hard to find. There is no engine in this vehicle, but it does have a spare gear box (which is supposed to be in good working order). Several boxes of other spare parts are also included that I have been religiously collecting over the years.

Another little desert one, I wonder if they have sold any of theirs yet.  One of theirs was 1 of 2 of the prototypes.
