Interesting, the 110 double cab was not sold in Australia until the Introduction of the Puma Range, 2007 Onwards.

Aah, except that there were some dual cab 110s made in 1986 by JLR. V8s...

On the other hand, the Bi-Centennial 110's you speak of were merely 110 station wagons with the roof chopped off square behind the rear passenger seat and an infill panel made with one of the rear side windows as a rear window.

The 110 tub on this one is merely a standard station wagon rear tub and a standard 130 dual cab roof.  It is rather easy to make an infill panel behind the rear seat if it only has to come up below the standard truck cab rear panel.  You can probably use standard 90 or 110 ute capping on the new transom. (In fact I have a NOS never fitted transom panel for the front of a 109/110 ute tub that would modify rather easily for the job.)

BTW: Mark just to be pedantic, the Bi-centennials were made by JRA (Jaguar Rover Australia). JLR is a much later advent during the sale and transfer from Ford PAG (Premier Automotive Group) to Tata Motors. Although there was a LRA (Land Rover Australia) as an office of Ford PAG in Australia. Volvo and Aston Martin were also in PAG

Rather than stabbing aroun at it I decided to go straight to the source and spoke to the seller.

He purchased this from Emu Gully and was told by the then owner that this vehicle was prepped as a comparison model during army trials of the g-vagen (yes I know that should be a 'w' - but they will always be zee Germans to me).

At least he was good enough to say that the right rear door is very rusty...

I took this pic at Emu Gully in 2010.  It was a double cab with a hardtop type back fitted.

It wasn't for the trials against the gwagen and Jeep, the 200tdi, let alone 300tdi was around then.  It was a precursor to the TD5 powered  remediation vehicles detailed here.  in fact the press release photo with the smaller window is the one for sale at the moment.

South Oz .... 1966 2A 109 looking good in deep bronze green.   I thought everything got the OD treatment in 1967?

Very original patina.

In 1970-1973 at Singleton range there was a mixture of OD and DBG vehicles, it seems that the vehicles that went to SVN were repainted or started off in OD but like all the CL vehicles if it never went for a rebuild or major repair it never got repainted.

This vehicle's condition looks excellent, I wonder if it spent most of its life in war supplies and never got near a paint gun?

Found out a bit more info on its relatively recent history.
It was sold to the sellers father, out of Tasmania, maybe eight years ago give or take.   Prior to that it was a bitza, with a ute cab on and trashy doors.   The owner, a friend, replaced the doors and brought it back to what you see now, hence the different door colour/shade. in fact, it was another friend (now deceased) that sprayed them.   He (my late friend) also had made an electric capstan winch with a starter motor, hence the two discolouration marks on the front bumper.   I'd like to know where the capstan went, as I try to retain as much of his work as possible ... sentimental sod I am!
Cheers,  Daryl.

At that price, it would sell quickly down here.A bit expensive for you northerners perhaps.
