S2A Jerry Can Holders/middle seat
« on: May 30, 2014, 07:47:13 PM »
The heading says it all. Looks as if a standard Land Rover Series middle seat will fit so my wife and son can bth travel with me. And I would love to fit a couple of Jerry Can holders as per FFR.

Did 2as ever have JC holders?

I guess if you changed the light locations you could install S3 JC hoders.

I figure moving the lights would be the easiest part :)

Compare Series 2a and Series 3 Jerry Can Holders for fitment and you might realize the problems especially when you try to open the tail-gate.
FFRs have the scoop in the rear for a reason not just for getting in and out.
Why not make up a frame to carry some in the rear.

Well,  my mistake then. I got it all wrong.  You shouldn't have a problem.  Just find some Series 2a Can holders.
Can use Series 3, but you'll have to get steel plate welded on for fitting correctly.  they're different.

The SIIa FFT jerry can holders are different to the SIII as they sit higher to allow the trailer plug to pass underneath.

You could fit the SIII type but you would neet to move  the NATO socket.
