How many per unit 65 is a equal split seems a lot

A lot bigger, and a lot taller, would make it more difficult in close bushy conditions I would have thought, and a much taller profile, I would have thought that would be an issue as well.  less shine without the window glass, but on a long haul i'm not sure if it would be of benefit or hinderence in comfort stakes (depends on speeds traveled I  guess).

My thoughts:
a larger, less manouverable vehicle with tyres that are harder to change= a pain to repair aaalll those flats
A larger more capable cross country vehicle that has to be left further away from the target to avoid discovery and takes more effort and nets to cache= can go further but they will need to walk further.
6x6= 6x6 tracks- no blending in with the traffic sign-wise.

I would have thought 1-6x6 /Pl as a mother ship and 2x 4x4s /Ptl.

Quick Q: did it restart after the water crossing stop/start process?

Dave,
SRV start and drove out easily. Trouble is if you turn the veh off all the centre/axle locks disengage.....you need to re-engage the switches and gently drive to re-engage the driveline.... The exhaust has an S bend to hopefully prevent water ingress...
Standard fording depth is the height of the lower edge of the 'doors'.

Rims are 16x8 one piece alloys with 'off the shelf' 285/75x16 BFG allterrains....def different to steel splits with rag tyres. Will be better for hwy and dirt roads, but scrub work will destroy tyres unless they're very careful.
(MTRs may be replacing the BFGs)

and an idea of what they look like with a w/screen and doors (cab canopy removed)

some mental meanderings.
conservative estimates:
2 veh x 3Ptl x 4Pl x4 Coy/ Sqn/ 3 Units= 288 vehicles. Only 200 WMIK kits being made, looks like somebody's walkin'

Whilst we often wished for gun mounts (and guns) it is interesting to see such a large budget to increase the defensive capabilities of the RFSUs.
