That is the collection known as 'the paddock', the L/Rover is a Topographical, it was full of sales documentation (and rubbish that Ian had collected from the roadside in an effort to the area clean)  from army auctions many years ago when I saw it in around 2004, there is a couple of different threads about the ebay auction, anything that is there vehicle wise is really going to need a huge amount of work/money to bring them back to life, no kerosene overhauls on any of these vehicles, cheers Dennis  :)

Wow, my first 2A was an FFW and the chassis number was 25307312b - only 2 different.
No idea where it is now unfortunately, and I knew nothing about where it came from - 20 years ago!

I just had a closer look at that photo, and its not a GS. Front exhaust and the top of the guards looks like its also an FFW, or at least a radio vehicle.
The FFW I had used brackets behind the seats for carrying the gardening tools, and the aerial tuner mounted on  top of the guard.
If you look at the top of the guard, towards the rear, there is a square hole where the armoured cover carrying the aerial cable came out from under the guard. The are 2 other holes in front of it where the aerial plug screwed into a holder.
Definately an ex radio bus

Looks to be modified for longer range work.  Note the rear jerry holders and not bumperettes, placed inboard to clear the can inboard of the tail lights.

The jerry can holders come standard on FFW, FFR etc.  They were needed to keep engine and/or generator going to charge the batteries.

We did carry a lot of fuel in trailers as well, but trailers can break or left behind in the case of a 'bug out'.... but comms are critical, so hence we carried extra fuel on the vehicle.

By the time the Series 3 came around all the variants got them, but that was because the rover 6 was a thirsty beast.

Cheers.

Thanks for that AGAS5.   Lots of info there I didn't know.  I'd better start looking at the archives a little harder.  :D

Alloy.
You wouldn't want it. It's big. Too big for a Landrover. Too wide. I have one.
Refer attached description.

I can't believe the day these are coming up for sale.  RAAF FFT with the 76 sqn panther on the doors is nice.  No ARN listing for it, would go well with the raaf ally trailer!   Radar trailer is also nice, but I spotted what looks like an ERV ambulance in the background of one photo too.  Exciting to see his cousin selling the se vehicles for him.

Scary, yes.  Correct width for a 6x6.
Was a few attempting to sell at the truck spares place in Minden Qld
a few years ago.  Before the Perentie auctions started.
Asking far too much.  They had No.5s as well for $2000 without a pintle.
