Taking a Punt
« on: April 15, 2013, 05:41:27 PM »
Hi there, I just bought a Series 3 Landrover in Qld and need to get it down to Sydney. Have tried a broker called Freight Seek  but if anyone on here has any recommendations I'd be happy to follow up.

I took a punt as the car had no Rego Papers or anything, but I managed to find the numbers (engine, chassis etc) and they all matched on the Register under the ARN. I'll have to get it reregistered in NSW when I have completed the restoration - If anyone could give me some feedback on how easy/hard this is to do that would be appreciated.

Hi, welcome to the Forum, could you tell us the ARN, any photos? also are you interested in completing the membership forms? if so I can lead you through it.

Someone will jump in soon and help you with any freight or rego issues for NSW

Regards
Scott

If we are talking SE Qld, ring a car dealer, used car dealer and ask what rates they pay etc. Buy a Just Cars type magazine and look for advertising on transporters. Look on the Trading Post. I'm just thinking out loud here. There are the Amberley staff and Enoggera staff who change postings -- maybe ask who moves their cars to Sydney?

Hi Scott,
ARN is 33-881 if i'm reading the registry right. I've figured out that 162 Reece Squadron is 162 Reconnaissance Squadron, based in Townsville until mid 2005.  No idea what 2 FSBN means.
I have no history at all for the vehicle. Was a little tentative when he told me he didnt have any rego papers but I took a reciept and signature, with his Drivers Licence details and went for it. Its in good shape structurally but doesnt start. But hey - how bad could it be...?

Hi Shaunmax

I just bought 33-868 on ebay and have to get it transported from Sydney to Brisbane - I'll beep the horn as we pass!

Or maybe we should just swap and save the transport costs.

Good luck with the restoration.
