All ACCO owners Mk 3 glass at a reasonable price. The last time I looked on the ::)Bay for Mk 3 glass the only offer I got was $100 for one second hand in 'reasonable' condition which included insects, dirt and other bits and .... yes there were "chips with that" (Excuse the poor pun on 'do you want fries with that')
Check this link out - Ebay
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/International-MK3-Windscreen-Ex-Army-Defence-Surplus-ADE-V-225-54-2510660182127-/112065509928?ssPageName=ADME:B:BOC:AU:1123
Windows in frame mount only right hand though, new and in original packaging. Very reasonable at $49 - but offer less as the man is reasonable and prompt in replying. I bought two - very reasonable :)

Good glassing!

I think Hilton pollard has new left hand ones
-
Thanks Dodgeguy1942
Do you mean Hilton has the glass or the frames or both? I believe the glass is laminated and reversible so if the left hand frame is in good condition the right hand glass should fit okay? The :-\Bay supplier only has right window frames with glass. I think that this is good value for a replacement laminated glass.

Hi everyone I posted up the ebay ad for the Mk3 RH screens earlier (last night) http://remlr.com/forum/index.php?topic=4472.msg44172#msg44172 (http://remlr.com/forum/index.php?topic=4472.msg44172#msg44172). Someone may want to merge the threads)
The screens come in their frame, but the hinge is only drilled for the two locating pegs, not the five fixing bolts that you have to drill yourself.
Yes Hilton Pollard does have a few Left hand ones, NOS in their cardboard original packaging, but as for the above screens they are in their frames without being drilled for the five fixing bolts
BTW the glass is reversible but only the glass itself not when in the frame, like the two vendors mentioned in this thread.
I have fitted up one of Hilton's screens to replace the one that cracked last month. Instead of drilling the holes, I swapped the hinge over.

Thanks Diana
Great information as always.

Talking about Inter screens, I bought a box of spares from the Army auctions some time ago. I seem to remember that there were some NOS Mk4/F1/F2/F5 ones in the bottom of the box. If anyone needs one I'll take another look and see what I have. :)
-
I'd be interested in at least one for my f1

I've already had more requests that I know I have screens, I'll see what I have and condition then let people know.

Sorted through the box today and while I thought I had at least three screens it turned out to be only two and some packaging. So to be fair one will go to each of the first two who sent me emails. They already know who they are.
Sorry for those who missed out. :( wish I had more.
-
the ebay vendor eClearences has no Mk3 RH screens left, seems someone did a job lot. When I picked up my to screens today he also showed me what looks (with 99% Confidence) like the wind up window glass for the Mk2/Mk3/Mk4/F1/F2/F5 trucks

Great information Diana - Watch this spot heh?

Hi Frank
I suspect the remaining RH Mk3 screens may be heading up to Colo Heights to be with the LH screens.
Ralph at eClearances was holding two screens for other customers, one from Tasmania? ? ? ?
Diana
-
Hi Diana - I am not aware of Colo Heights? ...... ??? It would be good to get a LH screen in its mount to go with a RH screen as spares in due course. The interchangeability of the glass from RH to LH as you pointed out is a benefit, albeit a bit more work.
Ralph contacted me and said that the two remaining RH screens were not paid for and asked me if I wanted them. I have undertaken to buy and collect them. If the original bidders wish to collect these screens they can get them through REMLR from me, at the original bid price. This is one way of paying REMLR members back for the many benefits I have been getting out of the forum. I think these are a great unexpected find and are really cheap insurance at the price.
Thanks for the response ;D

Hilton Pollard is at Colo Heights, his son Justin is on this forum.

Dear all -
I have been speaking with Ralph about the availability of supply of new Inter side windows (Not sure if they fit all ACCO versions but when I do, I will let you know) - these will be made available for members. Ralph is coming back to me with details and some options as the windows will be difficult for him to package and transport. It is my thinking that when this is all sorted out I will make them available at cost to those needing same. When this is determined, I will post the results on the forum for the information of members. Thanks to Dianna for her ongoing help too!
;D

Hi Frank
I'd be happy to pick them up and store for a little while, but space is tight
-
Diana - That would be fantastic - if it is not too much trouble. I have a man in Sydney who is not far away, but upon reflection, the windows will end up going to REMLR members anyway and since most members are further away from Portland than are closer to it your wonderful suggestion makes the most sense. When I have secured this with Ralph - I will let you know. ;)
A very generous offer, thank you.
Frank

Hi Frank
Just let me know when. On the other two issues, both are goers, we just need to touch base with each other.
On the Mk3 screens, was talking to Hilton Pollard and he now has 4 pair of Mk3 screens (LH and RH) which are the stock from Ralph at EClearances and the screens Hilton already had. Hilton's contact (02) 4565 0212

Hi Diana, et al, I have been able to obtain 10 of window glass - Now the challenge is to interpret the numbers on the packaging for the windows - 859063-R1 251066018 7946 42410056 date? 5-8-84. If you are 99% sure they are side windows that's a certainty for me! Question one is will they fit F1 as well as Mk3 inters? ::)
I have organized to pay Ralph and will liaise with him and you as to what is the most convenient for all as regards pick up - he is not in a hurry and is very easy to get along with as you know.
My next challenge is to source the main front window mounting rubbers for both front windows as mine are very perished. These are the holding rubbers to mount the glass into the frame. Opps ??? forgot to mention - this is for the F1 project not the Mk 3. Question 2 - Any suppliers for these glass mounting rubbers anyone might suggest I contact? I have located supplies of new door to cabin sealing rubbers and front opening windscreen sealing rubbers from Clark Rubber. I am really impressed by your Mk3 too Diana.
Frank :)
-
Excellent work there, Diana.
It was looking rather sad in the chook shed at one stage but looks new now.
I have located supplies of new door to cabin sealing rubbers and front opening windscreen sealing rubbers from Clark Rubber.
What is the part number for this rubber?
-
859063-R1 is shown as a side window (up and down one) for the both the MK4 and F1/2/5's.
2510 66 018 7946 is the NSN for the same. No idea what the 42410056 is.
I can't help you with whether or not they also fit the MK3. I've never seen a parts list for one. I'll have a look on mine and see if there are any identifying numbers though.
That windscreen rubber is going to be harder. It's listed as an ADEV part. 0.52"w x 0.58"h x 103.5"long.
Probably the easiest thing might be to take a piece into one of the rubber specialists like Purple Pig or maybe Rare Spares.
Greg.
-
Thanks Greg - talk about a font of knowledge, between you, Diana and Mick there's a library of knowledge. The access to accurate knowledge makes the restoration so much easier.
I will try those suppliers, and thanks to you I now know the correct dimensions. I spoke with Hilton today - a gentleman.
Let me know if you want any rubber as I can order extra - no worries -
Frank :)

I can confirm that 859063-R1 is also the glass for the the Mk3.
I have a poor copy of the Mk3 RPS but it is missing the LH column (item number) and part of the second column (description), so you can't identify the part from the item number. What I have to do is identify the part or similar part in the Mk4 RPS and use the RH end of the description to find the line in my Mk3 book.
I have asked the originator of the copy if I can borrow the original and make a new copy of it. The problem seems to be that the RPS is foolscap size in landscape so I'll have to find an A3 scanner and then edit the size of each image.
-
Hilton now has only 2 pair of Mk3 screens and a single RH screen.
-
Funny,I advertised new screens in the forum for sale, got no replies so I smashed up some 200odd new screens for the alloy scrap and to get rid of them. The council is still onto me and I have scrapped tons of new acco parts. No ,I dont have any speedos, instruments etc.Regards John.
-
John
I guess its the luck of the draw when you advertise and must admit I rarely go to Gumtree and even ebay unless someone tells me there's something of interest.
Perhaps you should run a list of what you still have in the advertising section and then we can have an idea of what you do have instead of individual questions.
I know that at one point I bought a roof panel but it was Mk4 and mine is an early contract Mk3 so the gutter is different. I then passed the roof on to a friend with an F1 which a much greater need of a roof.

Does anyone know some private contact details for David G from Albury?
We want to drop of some Mk3 bitz enroute to Melbourne tomorrow but his phone numbers all have work messages saying he's away till November.

Does anyone know if Frank will be going to Corowa?
I need to load my Mk3 onto the S-line this weekend and want to know if I need to also load the 10 side screens that Frank purchased.
Otherwise is there someone who would be prepared to carry 10 glass screens closer to Portland Vic for Frank to pick up?

Bring them to Corowa.
I regularly travel so close to Portland I could just about toss them to him. Maybe it will be a good excuse to pop in for a cuppa.

Frank also purchased a Mk3 front screen from Hilton, however Hilton won't be in Corowa this year. The result I'll be running up to Colo Heights to pick up Frank's screen, so it anyone else needs a Mk3 front screen, best contact Hilton to arrange it I'll likely go up there tomorrow.

By side screens, are you referring to the little quarter panel windows on the doors?
I could do with a couple of those. Mine are rusted up.
-
The quarter windows were always very expensive from Inter, and include a fair bit inside the door.I had a lot of both AB/C/D line quarters both sides and ACCO quarters both sides.I was asking $100 each, which was less than half the IH price. They are not easy to install, and there were complaints about the price. Then a guy turned up and wanted the lot,at my price.I said I was keeping a set for my D line,he said "no I must have the lot".Cash money and off they went.Dunno who, dunno why.By the way ,the door glasses and winder are the same as the "straight door" commercial ACCO,and probably the same as the "step door"69on truck.I might add that Mk3 windshields are not strictly reversible as two different thicknesses of glass are used,in the laminate.Actually ,things are looking on the Inter scene,I have managed to stall the council, and the price of scrap steel is climbing towards $200 a ton.Regards John.

Thank you Diana, FFRMAN, and Mick I am overwhelmed great work. Mick, any time you are coming through Portland I'd love to catch up with you - Thursdays and Fridays are the best AND the kettle is always on! This will be a pleasure and delight. ;)
I really appreciate the over and above efforts - especially Diana - I am in debt to you all!
Frank :)

No worries Frank. 8)
I drove up to Hilton's today, had a brew and picked up your screen so it will be loaded tomorrow for the trip to Corowa (it'll be a double or maybe triple Inter load, Mk3, S-line semi and probably another Mk4/F1 so your parts will be in good company).
I won't arrive till Thursday but will be at Bindaree with "The Booger" if Scott or Mick are available for the pickup.
