Lucky you, very nice.
I see the BFG Mud Terrain tyres. I don't know what size.. maybe 235 x 85 xR16? One spare is mounted out the back. Do two fit or are two MTs tyres too wide?

Went for a bit of an explore into Wombat forest with my mate keen to get his new defender dirty.

Got a bit ambitious with a line here and slid it into strife. The poor girlfriend got very upset in the passenger seat, and it took us a good hour to recover it.

Great fun!

Great fun? What? spending an hour getting it out or getting the girlfriend very upset?
Where in Wombat were you?

I have 255/85/16's on the RFSV. One underneath and one on the back. You can't fit two on the back but I still have 7 of the solid combat splits for when I head out in the real remote areas. Probably will be doing that next year. I must say though that the BF Goodrich's were great on the Goldfields trip. I did just over 2500kms on a range of different roads including 350kms on unsealed dirt roads with a lot of washouts and also a bit of low range no road work to find some secluded camping opportunities. No punctures and the Isuzu just ate it up.
I am planning a fishing trip up to Dirk Hartog Island in January so that will be a lot of serious off road driving as there are no sealed roads on the island and a fair bit of soft sand to navigate to get up to the North end of the island. Should be a good run for ARN51-745 and hopefully I will find a few fish too.
Regards Warrick.

All of the above! She's got a good sense of humour and I enjoy a good challenge, so no harm done  :D

I'm not really familiar with the area, but we came in from Trentham East. I'd guess we went about 5k's south of the shooting range which I think was on Firth Road? I refer to it as Wombat, but that could be a pretty loose definition, I'm hardly local out there.

Cheers

Spent the better part of the day yesterday fitting an awning, hoping it might be a nice little luxury up north in a few weeks.
It's VERY chinese, ill be amazed if it survives to be honest. But a good starting point to see if it could be done and if it'll prove itself useful or not.

I've wired a cheap reversing camera to a switch independently of the reverse light to allow flexibility. Of great assistance when parallel parking in tight spots.

Well we chose from the available options, one of which was standing around a nice big campfire in the rain... and another of which was having a fire 'under cover' to boil the billy etc and I knew a place we could do that.
