What a week
« on: February 14, 2013, 11:33:42 PM »
Hello all

Well what a week, due to the mining industry slowing and a structural change at work my job was made redundant  - I did initally considering the new position but I have verbally excepted the redundancy and after 17 years service it was impressive indeed (no real need to work for the next 2-3 years).

This all takes effect as of the 15th of March - and what exciting times ahead, might have free time for the toys in the shed and the vacant bay preperation for the Perrentie (awaiting the auctions). I will forward my new contact details to every one when my new phone arrives and home email address is (ellards.4@bigpond.com)

As I havent taken any holidays in 4 years first thing on the agenda is a good break and some quality time with the family - but it has started already with two job offers on the table (I will get boored quickly).

All the best

Hi Wayne

That's both sad and happy at the same time.  It's good you'll be with the family more of the time, but 17 years service, including injuries only to find you can be discarded so easily must be a sense of frustration.

I note there is your number in my call register, have been off colour all week but will ring tomorrow.

It was my decission not to re-apply and I have no hard feelings, when you consider anything over 5 years in mining inductry in WA is rare for me to do 17 must be.......... - yes I have had the othr two mining SA based mining operations contact me (like Challenges)

News flash.

After a few days off, I am now working at a new mine site.

Fly in and out of Adelaide, 8 days on 6 off at challenger gold mine (tuesday to tuesday). I was made an offer difficult to refuse and starting Tuesday.  The site is very isolated with mminimal communications so leave a message and I will return your calls.

All the best

On the thumbnail map, you have to drive almost as far to the airport as the mine is from you.
Well, the mine may be a little further.
Good luck with your new job.
