:) um, using a 'proxy' (Scott), just got 101-148 tlr (SVN service, RTA 71 with 4RAR Townsville.) Interestingly it currently has 2RAR '56' tacs and Auscam. Maybe the logbook will tell the story. But likely not. Scott got something as well. Pickup next M, T, W.

Thanks for the info, the price was good.It was the cost of getting it home that was going to hurt. There are plenty of  engine transmission combinations available at a reasonable price and the remainder of the truck seemed to be in good order. If it had been in the eastern states I think it would have made a lot more.
It would wreck out ok, as I learnt from a tractor wrecker once, you wreck the good vehicles not the ones that are worn out.

Cheers Ken

Its about $800 in fuel each way but if I take a car trailer with me the trip is worthwhile plus I enjoy the drive and catch up with a few people

Hard core!
I was looking at driving back but as it worked out it was not required.
I worked out about the same for fuel. Add airfare and hotels and transport was cheaper.
So you'll have no probs driving to Perth for a Perentie round up?! ;D

From Minto 22may - a couple of non-goer bargains I think:

Amb 6x6 $9209 plus fees plus gst
http://www.graysonline.com/lot/0064-5009980/transport-trucks-and-trailers/land-rover-110-4x4-cargo-soft-top-12-1988

FFR 4x4 $3109 plus fees plus gst
http://www.graysonline.com/lot/0068-5009980/transport-trucks-and-trailers/land-rover-110-4x4-cargo-soft-top-12-1988
A lot of things missing from the Ambo, a seat box for example, then there's all the bits missing from the A/C blower unit.  If there were more 6x6 being wrecked as donors it wouldn't a great deal, but given the wide bodies are orphans parts will be difficult for a while.

WELL! Anything but same old, same old.
Minto has, not 1, but 2 Crew cabs! Not to mention the Transportable Airfield transponder Unit!! Would have thought Mannheims would have been given that.
