1987 Ex Mil G-Wagen

Have come across some ex mil g-wagens in Singapore and thinking of bringing one in - anyone know of issues with getting these on the road here? - they are 2 door soft tops.
Thought some of these were used at some stage by the Australian Military in the past but not sure.
