I'm with Young Eric ... tatty from the pics:
1.   no gun rack, that is, if the dual cabs ever had them ... can't remember.
2.   no tarp.
3.   small tears to rear seat cushion and squab.
4.   paint ... sad ...looks like it was used to test effects of sun damage in the Simpson for 12 years.
5.   looks to have had an engine change, but without logs, can't be absolute on that.

That's without inspecting it.    Condition may not be all things to all men, but is to most.
From memory the last DC's max was $27K?   Please correct me if wrong, as the old memory seems to have deserted me.

Cheers,  Daryl.

Hello All,
I've just recently signed up to the forum as I've wanted to get my hands on a 6x6 for decades and this forum has a wealth of information on them. Congratulations to all on that. I've been voraciously reading the posts on this particular thread and watching our friends at Grays and it seems that Minto regularly has far more on offer than elsewhere. Could someone let me know if this is always the case?

Been that way since I bought mine a year ago. Melb, Perth etc seem to get a token number of vehicles compared to Minto

HI,

Yes, Minto is the head office for Australian Frontline Machinery - the company with the rights to on sell the Defence vehciles, they use Graysonline as their auction house.

AFM arrangements includes all vehicles to be sent to Minto (this happens to about 90%, there are a few exceptions) where a inspection, grading and admin is done. They then send some to Melb/Brs/Adl. Generally the ones they send to other locations are above average, Minto can have a lot of poor ones.

If I was you I'd consider buying from any location, a bit of trouble inspecting and transporting but if you end up with the right one it's all worth it. I bought my first FFR from a Brs sale, had RACQ inspect it for me.

Hope this helps

Regards
Scott

Thanks for the info. I had a brief look at the two from the last Brisbane auction. They were parked in the muddiest spot in the yard and I didn't bring a tarp and overalls to crawl under them. Note to self don't inspect vehicles on the way to work  :)
I'm not desperate to buy one in the next 24 hours but it'd be nice to do it before Christmas, but saying that is there any way to find out how many have been sold already and how many are left to go. I'd hate to miss the boat entirely.

Yes they are all listed in the database on the webpage but at a guess about 1500 + to go

Thanks for the pointer but I haven't been able to find anything on AFM's website. I must be doing something not right.
