A little inspiration for the big job ahead.
Lady was fetched from a property in far-west N.S.W. during Dennis' holidays in February 2002 (1500km round trip). As you can see Lady was covered in layers of dust that indicate she was "left on the shelf" for years. How many years is anyone's guess. She was complete and original but her bodywork was tired. The firewall was the worst part as the windscreen had a noticeable lean. Her doors and roof were off and found elsewhere in the shed. The main thing was that her chassis and drivetrain were okay and her restoration prospects good. The engine is a 2.25 litre unit, #151990458. Graeme is pictured looking at Lady at rest in the tin shed before the engine was started with some know-how, some petrol and a good battery. Dennis watched the resultant movement in the Oil Pressure gauge and was happy with what he saw. Lady was driven up onto the trailer behind Dennis' County 110 Wagon - but Lady's lack of brake pedal meant that this was accomplished with a fair bit of stress... and the stress continued on the 13½ hour long return trip as three of the trailer's tyres literally stressed out and "went to pieces".

Update: Lady has been dismantled and Dennis has been pretty busy working on his N°5 trailers as well. In March 2004, Dennis completed restoration work on the chassis. Lady is back on wheels. Here are the update photos:

Engine cleaned and refitted

Update: Lady has had many parts blasted, rerivetted in some parts (using rare original-type new rivets), and spray painted. Dennis has been pretty busy using all his spare time. The engine has had a lot of attention too. By December 2004, Dennis had completed loads of work. Even new 'Rover Australia' stickers are in the engine bay. Here are the update photos:
