Welcome to Chris' shed. Chris C. is REMLR member 179. Each of Chris' ex-Army Land-Rovers has it's own photo page to record the restoration work:
Number 3: W.R.A.M.
"I purchased the Wrecked Rusty Army Machine from Duncans Wrecking Bundaberg in the first week of 2004. I was there looking for parts for my Series 3 G.S..
"The landy was in a wrecked state - the parts that had been removed from it were:
"On the other hand, it does have some Australian Army G.S. fittings still 'in-situ' after 30+ years: "This vehicle, prior to wrecking, belonged to the owner of Duncans Wrecking, who used it as a farm utility vehicle until recently when he had sold his farm and had no further use for the vehicle. When located in the wrecking yard, the Land-Rover tub was full of "farm junk" - i.e. an open and spilled bag of pellet manure fertiliser all over the rear tub, several reels of old barbed wire, a container of chicken feed, countless containers of unidentified chemicals and enough old water resting in the rear storage compartments to fill a small swimming pool.
"The 'in-service' history and previous ownership history prior to farm work is all an unknown. This Land-Rover has a 'delivery/warranty plate' that states: 10/3/1971 [ delivery into service - warranty begins ] "I'm taking pics at various stages and making a record of everything that is being done and when it happens. I will send you some more photos soon as jobs get done..."
