Welcome to Chris' shed. Chris C. is REMLR member 179 and lives in southeast Queensland. Each of Chris' ex-Army Land-Rovers has it's own photo page to record the restoration work:
Number 1: Get Stuffed
Chris' ex-Australian Army Series 3 GS Land-Rover is called Get Stuffed or GS for short. It has original Auscam livery and an interesting service record going by the old unit markings on the doors (Tacs 1 Div, HQ6 TF, 139 Sigs '12'?)... more on that down the track we hope.
In early 2004, Chris joined REMLR and emailed some pics:
"I've attached some photos of GS just after I brought it. It is a 1978 build so makes it 25 or so years since GS started work in the Army. I'm in the process of putting some of the bits and pieces back on because the man I bought it off removed them (as you can see in the earliest pics) so they would not 'go missing' when it was parked in his front yard.
"I have to refit (among other things):
"I just brought some brand new tyres for GS. The tyres are called "bar lugs" cross between a bar tread and a Super Slug (the closest things you can get to bar treads these days). Next on the shopping list, once I have saved up some money:
"The other parts that are missing are the air lift tongues at the back which were cut off in the past (unfortunately), and I'll have to re-weld the front ones back on with their "protective steel bumpers" which extend out from the front of the brushguard; they were also cut off. Another big job is to fix the rusty rear chassis crossmember. I will be working on that very shortly.
"I'm taking pics at various stages and making a record of everything that is being done and when it happens. I will send you some more photos soon as jobs get done..."
