so in the twelve months ive had the truck progress has been problematic i could have left the truck as she was but couldnt help myself when i found rust under the pump
and seeing over tenders like ellards inspired me to strip and bring it back to formally glory . without going to all details the chassis was stripped blasted patched and sprayed by myself axles pulled down not completely at this stage but for the purpose of spraying all nedd spring bushes and chassis bushes put it .new wheel cylinders and brake components ready to go in at this stage

also a little rust has been cutout of the firewall i repalced the hole floor on the passenger side i purchased a off the shelf replacement well section but re pressed the ribs into the floor to keep the original look as much as possible

thanks scott its moving along slowly didnt add earlier ive picked up a 88 civvy with motor and radiator in good order and im considering swapping the red motor out for the landy motor
have had a wave of originality even though i like the history of the red motor being fitted buy the fire brigade that bought it. i think it wouldnt do the resto justice without the landy heart

HI, yeah I'd go the Land Rover motor, the real value (not money) in doing a great restoration is the originality, but it's your vehicle so your call - still great either way as there is history in the fire brigade side as well

cheers

Looking great!

Where did you get the brake parts from?  I need to replace them all in my ambulance as well.

Well are long hiatus after building houses kids and careers I’m back at it. Hard to see previous hard work need to be redone but that’s what happens after sitting in a farm shed for 7 years.

Can anyone remind me of the original red colour code.

Welcome back Tim,

Looking forward to seeing this come back together.

For the paint code, I would try Wayne Ellard. I’m not sure if he is still on here, but worth a try!

I can remmember that at the following locations there was a landrover appliance being 1 base Workshop Bn it went to Canungra.
Whilst working at 11 sup bn we had both a corporal and appliance in 1984 the firefighter went to Canungra station.
