Vehicle Names - Army ones!

Ok, I am starting a list here of names found on vehicles, and phtoos of them.  To be collated on the vehicle markings page of REMLR.

If you can, include a photo, description, name, location and the unit if you know, or think you do.

I can start with my old series 3,  33-727. It was a FFR, with "Coma ~ Toes" II painted on the drivers side air vent in a white script with a black drop shadow.

Well with all the military Land Rovers that I own, the only markings other than tyre pressures, speed warnings, were the call sign and unit markings for 2Cav on my 109 wksp 172-562

door markings 83 tech/supp (2Cav inverted triangle, with RAEME Spanner) A (aplha vehicle)
call sign 'Tassie Devil' as uncovered

and much later all replicated

Hi here is some unit tacs and markings/names
First one has name and raeme badge but the raeme badge has found on the door by itself different unit paint the raeme and different paint but must use raeme colours
now cleaned up and redone on computer petri is the name found on 113 773 meaning peter int english
and the door badge marking
 
gear box and transfer box marking
113 773 113 841
tactical marking only found on drivers guard or back left side of tub
  found on 113 773 Red background stands for infantry, A stands for Alpha company and the number is 60 which means it belongs to the 41st Royal New South Whales Regiment (RNSWR).

This name is stencilled onto the front bumper of the RFSV currently at Greysonline yard, Perth.

Greg and Anthony, I have only just looked at this thread properly.

Your vehicle PETRI

is actually the word "PETROL" stencilled above the emblem and under the filler.

If you look at the pic now with that in mind it shows clearly it is petrol and explains why it was offset to the picture..


It is probably also stencilled under the pass side filler also?

Freelandy,"trust me" would have been an armoured corps RAEME vehicle.The name sounds familiar,Im trying to find photos from my time to provide others with more info on their vehicles.Turtle was the name of my elect repair vehicle when I was at 2/14 LH in the late eighties early nineties.Very aptly named.The fitter armoures was called TARDIS,it had more hidden compartments for bits than the Dr Who one.It was also enclosed in steel not canvas.

Phoenix, "COMA-TOES" II is my sign writing, 1990's if I recall. This was on a mates' SIII FFR and described his usual physical state while driving it in the bush. It is II because his first COMA-TOES was a cut-down SII ambulance he brought from a Warrant Officer at Dowsing Point, T Comd Workshops I think. I will look and see if I have any photos around, can't quite remember now.

I followed up on that SIII FFR, the bloke who had it, well known in the engine reconditioning industry in Hobart, bought it about 1990. Saw it parked on the side of Collins St, left a note on the window for the bloke to contact him if he wanted to sell it. A week later he was the new owner.

Allegedly it came from Darwin, there were frill necked lizard stickers from Norforce on both doors, painted over. He had it for about 6 years and sold it to a bloke in St Helens.
