Thanks Ross.

Now we're getting there. Have these, the other points I raised and the endorsement of the awards as a REMLR Activity has been clearly discussed and recorded by the Committee ?

Now that REMLR is Incorporated it must operate by certain standards.  This was well understood during the transition a few years ago.  Like other small organisations, REMLR will continue to rely on a few individuals to be the 'drivers' and this is to be applauded. However, they must still follow and be seen to follow due process. The days of REMLR being just a hobby and acting on a whim are gone - you and the remainder of the Committee are accountable.

If not already an agenda item, then I suggest the Committee discuss the issue of awards and such during its meeting at Corowa. Perhaps draw up a standing set of selection criteria and basic rules and incorporate it into the Constitution i.e.  Do the ground work once, then just carry on and enjoy from then on...

Enjoy the parade 👍

Hi Pete, AFAIK there is absolutely no need to incorporate such rules into the constitution (and I can see potential problems if that was done) - the conditions can simply be minuted/confirmed in a meeting and therefore easily adjusted/cancelled in the future.

In the current situation I would consider it appropriate that the meeting will confirm whatever criteria are decided by those present this week. :)

In case that isn't acceptable to you, an alternative solution could be for those members of the current (2014) committee now present in Corowa to convene an extraordinary committee meeting and confirm the criteria before adjudication.

Photoshop has a great adjustment to lighten shadows and reduce glare, that might help?

Hi laurie,

The point was to do the ground work for such an activity once and then just conduct it every year as a planned, well thought out activity.

It's not about what's acceptable to me. As it stands, although raised to the Committe a few weeks ago, going forward with the activity has caught a few of the them off gaurd - which brings into question whether it was realy approved activity or just the actions of one individual.

That is not how REMLR Inc should be conducting itself.

Pete

Hi Pete; in attempting to suggest a solution that may hopefully be acceptable to all those present in Corowa ATM, the "all" got left out - it wasn't personal.

I just wish I was there now with such a good roll-up, but other factors intervened for me this year.

:) thx all for a v nice day at Corowa and thx Pete & Laurie for the suggestions & thinking. I think ideas need kicking around on this, a little diversion, a side bar event, for LR enthusiasts from various clubs to attend/enjoy. It was a great starter-offer at least -imho.
