Australian Military Equipment Collectors (AMEC) will be displaying vehicles but have been placed out the back somewhat out of sight.

:'(  :'(  :'(  AAVA was supposed to be parading at the AWM open day, but AWM's current budget constraints couldn't justify subsidising the transport and at at a $1,000 plus per vehicle, it's too much for our members to afford personally.

Hi John, yes I got 90mins. Great crowd and a top event.
In order...

I saw the Light Horse re-enactment group, lotsa audience there.
Next was a great turnout from the local AIF soldiers. Excellent 'camp' with all period gear. Fantastic collection of antique memorabilia. The bully beef or hard tack mess was complete with open biscuits, beef tins, cheeze etc. Very well done, I was impressed with their drill also. At one stage they marched with a piper leading. Hob nail boot marching noises. I didn't take a pic I was too busy watching...

Next was the front of the AWM. A WW1 tank. Some ceremonys and flyover - but got there too late and I missed the Federation Guard too. It was crowded all around like on ANZAC Day. Next some WW1 vehicles and drays. Some WW2 doodle-bug type rockets. Very interesting.

Next was the Mil Veh enthusiasts around the Cafe side road. I met Rick and friends Mal, Mark, Andrew (Acco 6x6 etc). Mark has a Series 2A 109 with red cross ala Ambo. I don't who owned the Workshop. I must join that AMEC club...

Excellent - sad I missed it. As for the club, I'll be at their April meeting tomorrow night.

Edit: ooops - different club.

Hi there, yes to those clamps. The club meet is on while I'm on shift again. Can you make a call and move the day? Ha, oh well.

Um, the club shirt Rick had on was not the LROC. Also the G wagon came up.

I don't think I have the bits that mount on the bonnet - just the clamps that attach to the guard. Two of - in my hand right now.

I also have been holding a 2 pronged fuel filler cap for you. If you don't need it I'll put it back into stock.

I like the looks on that UN vehicle - don't remember seeing it there on previous visits.
