A couple more photos that have recently come to light after trawling through countless slides!
The first photograph is of "the Bowl" in Vung Tau in very early days, possibly about July 66 or so. The large tent to the mid right of shot is 21 Supply platoon and the timber frame structure is a shelter for the refrigeration plant.
I Coy LAD (RAEME) is in the centre of shot on the far side of the bowl and just to the right of that is 87 Transport Platoon lines. The trucks in the centre of the bowl belong to the two Platoons 1 Pl and 87 Pl and separated only by the "road" that ran diagonally across the bowl. The two Unit's tent lines were on opposite sides of the bowl and this shot was taken from 1 Pl lines looking across towards 87 (top right) and the Officer's mess top left..
The white screen was the movie screen and the nearby box was the projection "room".
1 Coy HQ is at the bottom of shot, and especially for Dennis, right down the bottom right hand corner is the 1 Coy RAASC OC's Land Rover 88" which came down from Saigon and stayed DBG for the entire time that 1 Coy was in country. It never went very far past the Officers Mess and a few bars in town, and the fact that he was not at all a well liked man (and I use the term loosely), so the lack of camouflage on that particular vehicle never worried anyone.
The second one is for Digger and doesn't really need much explanation. The meeting of two supply convoys, one Aussie and the other belonging to the Yanks. Taken by the Number 2 on the third truck in the packet by the looks of it.
Have a few more that I might post up at a later date
Regards
