It ended up being a rich auction - too rich for my blood - probably thanks to the low numbers. The Infantry Carrier has to take the cake - $37,109.

It was immaculate though  :)

That infantry carrier was actually one large vanilla spongecake. AFM bakers were working around the clock for weeks.

$18,109  :o
More or less than you expected, natoman?
A bit of work required, despite the Blue slip. Lots of patch and paint and some mechanical.
No GM120 available.

Lot 30@$9100ish was fair money for, effectively, a new vehicle. Everything under the body appeared new or refurbished. Have seen similar go for nearly $15K.
Re-gal chassis
Suspension
Axle assemblies (F&R)
Engine and ancilliaries
Gearbox
Oh, and a cushy steering wheel upgrade.
The full Tenix enchelada! hmm, but no GM120 to confirm that to the average punter.

Lot 21 @ $9400!? well I just dont know. At a glance it needed about $3K worth of partsand lots of time on detail repairs. Maybe someone knows something that I don't..... or just another 'red haze' bidding war.

As posted, the IIMV was NOS.Yes, I typoed previously, not 1920ks but 192! As in One hundred and Ninety two ONLY! Valued by Defence @$150Kish, not bad buying. Straight to the (reccently extended) pool room. ;)

Further chatter about commercial quantities going O.S. Keep holding  your breath for a $3K road ready Perentie.....

Note: all prices are Bid prices, exclusive of Gst etc etc (@Juddy)

They are, Wayne, but not excessively.
They will for a while yet. Just wait until Joe Average goes into a LR dealer to buy a Defender and is told "We don't do those anymore".
Many will then go looking for something like what KLR has created for AFM.

Wayne

I had thought similarly Wayne, but when you think back to the disposal of the Series 3s, they continued to bring around $4,000 at auction throughout the extended sales period but when that was over they were only worth half that on resale on the open market. Due to the desirable features of the perentie I don't think we'll see a repeat of that.

As a matter of interest, I had a look at the "civilianised" perentie on show at Minto, all blinged up and with a KLR turbo & p/s kit and repainted with shiny dark green paint - AFM trying to show what can be done with one, it looked good but still a perentie under the surface

More than I would be willing to pay. But I didn't really know what to expect.

Out of interest how many tray back six wheelers have been through the auctions? Going off the ARN list I counted about 49-50?

And that's a very good point. Still a Perentie! Factor in the cost of buying one all the mechanical mods wheels tyres new canvas professional paint job. You still have a tractor but a better looking one.

power steering
ABS
aircon
locks
hard top
radio
that all adds up

You could easy spend 25k plus doing one up

Similar money you could get a good td300 or td5

I think if the prices came down to 4/5k like the uk ones it would
Be more worth while upgrading.
