Three of the Perenties were sold to bidders from Minto. Also, a bidder from Minto pushed the RFSV up too. My conspiracy theory? AFM are now competing for lots, pushing the prices up.

Hmmm - illegal?

I know at least one Land Rover enthusiast who lives in Minto.  So just because a bidder is in Minto doesn't mean its AFM.

Although not too clear it was a tongue in cheek comment. I don't really think AFM would do anything like that, but it sure would explain the prices :)

I asked somebody at AFM about a trailer that did that at an early auciton, and went for about $2k plus.  I asked if there was gold in the drawbar and the comment was that it was simply a bidding war between two people.

Looks good value compared to the other one, and better canvas than the 18k one...
