Hi Brian

The 33-945 trailer is currently cohabitating with 154-403 and my 173-159 (just next to the buggy).

However we are a little concerned about the stability of two trailers one atop the other.  Putting two trailers with the lunette on the deck we can push the two trailers together so there is about 2050mm between the axle centres.  The length of a No.5 from the centre of the wheel to the tip of the lunette is 2267mm so as long as you have about 4300 from the back of the trailer deck to the behind the trailer ball coupling you should be able to double up the two on a trailer. My float is designed for 88" Landies with a 109 in an emergency, so provided it is longer tha mine you should be O.K.

Diana
I made it back to Kalgoorlie with both trailers late last night without incident thanks to Diana and her mods to my trailer and her tie down efforts. 154 403 is 1971 vintage and belonged to 6 RAR 1971 to1976 before being shifted to 9 TPT SQN '76 to'97 then 2FD LOG Bn at Lavarack then to1 FLD REGT in Enoggera in June '07
33 495 was with 21 SupplyBn Moorebank from 1981 on.

Hey Scott,

If you do have a win and I get my hands on a No.5 , you might be able to piggy back the trailer home for me?

I'm a starter for the Armd museum RV for the convoy drive to Corowa.

Cheers,

Mick

Looks like the Vic auction has a slightly mangled "upgraded" RFSV.

What's the rules on imports to nz?
Mainly Quarantine issues, steam clean to Nth Degree.
As the vehicles have Aust Compliance, that is accepted in NZ so they should sail through rego. They go through a process called VIN'ing (much the same as NSW Blue Slip), then a Warrant of Fitness (roadworthy), and done.

NZ allows imports of 2nd hand vehicles from places like Japan, Aust and the US, either by an individual or by a dealer/re-seller, so these won't be an issue at all.
