Gets me thinking where are they all going?
Are they all going to enthusiasts or speculators?

Would any one on here pay this kind of money? most on here think there worth less than 8k, like I said 90% of the people have spoken to are just average Jo wanting a old army Land Rover, but some will have been silent watches on here and other forums, and might think the special variants are well worth the money....

And fast on the heels of the silly first bidding we have RFSV number 2, that was a good buy at its lower bidding price, but those who thought 18k was stupid are now upping the bidding on this one, looks a good one, but 12/14 Max in the real world, but as we know this is not always the real world, 18k for this one....

Three of the Perenties were sold to bidders from Minto. Also, a bidder from Minto pushed the RFSV up too. My conspiracy theory? AFM are now competing for lots, pushing the prices up.

Hmmm - illegal?
I know at least one Land Rover enthusiast who lives in Minto.  So just because a bidder is in Minto doesn't mean its AFM.
Or could be on behalf of Foreign Bidders, who would require an agent with a local address to register with AFM/Grays, yet have the vehicle held in Bond to be GST free for export? I understand that at least a couple of vehicles have already gone overseas, but I have never seen an Overseas bidder's address in the bidding history. Perhaps Grays have set up a system to bid by Proxy for overseas buyers?

Do we think they are overpriced? The AU$ has dropped against the UK Pound, the US$ and NZ$ in recent months, making any purchase accordingly discounted in foreign currency.

I might ring my contact at WA greys and find out if they know of any auctions on the horizon.
Palmer barracks has quite a few parked up out the back as well.
Might have to see what the go is with them.

Hi All
I have been up all night pondering the problem at hand and I have come to this conclusion. Due to climate change the atmosphere is increasingly becoming warmer which is going to cause the end of the world as we know it. So I went out to my shed in the early hours of the morning and gazed into the windscreen of my now very valuable series 2a (due to the rarity of it. I have worked out the value of my 2a looking at what clowns are prepared to pay for a vehicle with less rarity. ) and I turned towards Solihull, fell to my knees and prayed to the Land Rover Gods. After this life changing episode I walked away with some clarity on the problem.
The prediction is that we are all going to die and the world is going to end at 4.20 PM AEDT 26/02/2014, so we all have to bid like crazy because if you purchase one these SUPER ROVERS you will survive Armageddon. So you all have been warned do something to protect yourself and your families.
Listen to what I have to say I have looked in to the eyes of the GODS.

It does make you wonder, why the values of the older Series land rovers are still low compared to these, but the fact of the matter is, most buyers what a newer vehicle that is reliable, the Perentie fits the bill perfectly.

Series Land Rovers are looked upon by most as old classic vehicles, and as such are not very good as a every day vehicle.

Rightio you blokes .... can someone talk me around the reasons this Cargo went for that money please?

http://www.graysonline.com/lot/0028-5009036/

Someone added a 1 to the front of that bid by mistake maybe?

$9,009.00 is pretty steep but $19,009.00!? I honestly think that may be a ten thousand dollar mistake.

second highest bidder went to 18,209, 3rd highest 12,009  so was a real bid...........

Wow! right you are. Crazy price.
