Richard, the bush tucker man's GS was 48-001. How is it different to 48-005?

btw, could you add a link to the http://www.remlr.com/btmnotes.html page we have.

the link is the official site http://www.bushtuckerman.com.au which apparently came thru 6 months back.

there are a couple of good yarns and generally a great place to go armchair travelling.

Ok, the initial production vehicles were the first vehicles off the line and pretty much represented one of each type.

48-001 is a GS With Winch, IPV1, and is fabously known as the Bush Tucker Man vehicle from the first series.  It is believed to be in service in Darwin still.

48-002 was a FFR, IPV2. It later became a RFSV development prototy[e and was later upgraded to the latest RFSV specivication under Project Overlander part 2a.  Believed to still be in service.

48-003 was a FFR, WIth Winch, IPV3. Like 002 it was later upgraded to be a RFSV development prototype.  It too was upgraded later again to the latest RFSV spec.

48-004 is a Survey FFR WW vehicle, IPV4. Not sure where it currently is.

48-005 is the command post previously mentioned, IPV5. Was later converted to a basic FFR. At the current auction.

48-006 is a Senior Commander FFR WW.  IPV6 and currenty of unknown location.

48-007 is a Personnel Carrier. IPV7, also of unknown location.

48-008 is the first true production vehicle, a GS which they all ere unti 48-343 when they started producing the other models.

Exactly, and the blue slips will give a good indication as I believe they include seating capacity.

On another note, RAAF land rovers are appearing as well going by registration numbers.  http://www.graysonline.com/lot/0048-5006043/motor-vehiclesmotor-cycles/land-rover-soft-top-9-1990-land-rover-110-4-x-4-soft-top

One of which is a RAAF 6x6 as well.  Some don't look too bad, others are pretty rough, but I expect the prices will stay pretty low.

Even some of the complete vehicles look pretty rough.

4x4 Land Rover prices are down on last auction. No.5 trailers are currently at give away prices. Could this be the beginning of bargain priced 4x4 Perenties? Next auction will be rather interesting.

Cousins Motor Co had one of their Perenties up on ebay recently for $19 890. They had only one offer for $6000. This was declined. Auction ended without result.

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1989-Land-Rover-110-Diesel-Green-4sp-M-Wagon-/390564133279?pt=AU_Cars&hash=item5aef6fb99f&_uhb=1#ht_2276wt_1140

http://offer.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBidsLogin&_trksid=p4340.l2564&rt=nc&item=390564133279

Cousins still haven't sold any of the original four which they bought at the first auction. I think they may have trouble moving these four their current prices.

http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/Cars-/29690/m.html?_ipg=&_sop=10&_from=&_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ssn=cousinsmotorco&_dmpt=AU_Cars&Manufacturer=Land%2520Rover&rt=nc

The question should be asked...will the Perenties become 'poison' within the used car market. If prices continue to fall at auction, car yards could be stuck with unsellable stock.

The previous trailer (No 5) sales in Brisbane last year were run by Mannheims.
Not the same as these current disposals.
The only current auctions so far in Brisbane were for semi-trailers.

I'm wondering if all these vehicles are going to be Sydney sales only.  gonna make it hard
for people in the rest of Oz to get one.

Juddy, if you're after a No. 5 trailer I'll have one soon once I finish painting etc.

A Crump and Cornish is big.
But you know that. You saw them at Corowa.
IMO to make them more "domestic", move the axles over the springs. Like that one at Corowa.

Hi Mick,

Do the Crump and Cornish (and the similar ones made by others presumably) have bows? The photos don't really show whether there are sockets, etc but there are rope clips visible. They look like a nice trailer and the brakes and tailgate make them more attractive.

Bob

This one has bows - so my question answered:
