I wonder why the army is getting rid of the unimogs with cranes first.

What are they replacing the mogs with???

It's just a guess, but I imagine the cranes were fitted to allow self installation of the troopy seating modules and they're not needed for that purpose anymore

Found this Unimog for sale on Gumtree. $75,000.

Could it be Lot 4 (as shown above) as the seller says that it was first registered in 1989. If so, he is asking more than twice what he paid for it :o

Ok I have worked out how you can determine sold prices...
Here are what the Mogs went for.
Some of these are older than those in the previous auction. Still Lot 4 looks like a comparative bargain!

lot 4
Cargo Crane Truck - 8/1989 Mercedes Benz Unimog UL1700L 4 x 4
Current bid: $34,609

lot 5
Cargo Crane Truck - 11/1987 Mercedes Benz UL1700L Flat Top 4 x 4
Current bid: $74,709
lot 6
Cargo Crane Truck - 6/1987 Mercedes Benz Unimog U1700L 4 X 4 Flat top
Current bid: $38,609
lot 7
Cargo Crane Truck - 12/1984 Mercedes Benz Unimog UL1700L 4 x 4
Current bid: $44,509
lot 8
Cargo Crane Truck - 2/1985 Mercedes Benz Unimog UL1700L 4 x 4
Current bid: $32,209
lot 9
Cargo Crane Truck - 5/1985 Mercedes Benz Unimog UL1700L 4 x 4
Current bid: $30,609

Found this Unimog for sale on Gumtree. $75,000.

The seller has dropped the price by $6 000 to $69 000. Only been on Gumtree for 10 hours.

Hi there all

I find this quite funny dealers buying at one price and trying to make a small fortune......

We all know what happen last time with the dealers who bought the td5 military landrovers and found the.very difficult to sell them for a profit.....and some are still available.........

Wayne I
2 x SI 1958 LWB Fire Engine
1 x SII LWB 1961 Angus Firefly
1 x SIIA LWB 1963 Fire Tender (No 5 fire trailer)
1 x 110 48:005 Forward Command Podt

It makes little sense why they would buy these and inflate the price so much, anyone who wants one knows the true value/

Patience will be the order of the day to get value!
Let the dealers grab the early ones and when they relise that we won't pay their exorbitant prices they might give up and go back to the JAP models.

Our intent is to keep these for history within reason, not just to flog the crap out of them on the beach or make into a Soccer Mums Taxi!!!

The silliness has begun,

$26,890.00 for a 24 year old FFR  :o  :o  :o  :o  :o  :o  :o  :o

If you go here http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/Cars-/29690/m.html?_ipg=&_sop=10&_from=&_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ssn=cousinsmotorco&_dmpt=AU_Cars&Manufacturer=Land%2520Rover&rt=nc you can keep a closer eye on the Perenties. I wonder how long they will be on ebay before they sell. Posted up on the March 8.

Another Perentie (49-611) has shown up at the same dealer.

49-611...110...09.1989...Perentie 110...72500...Truck, Utility, Lightweight, MC2...SALLDHAZIFF385729...Odometer reads 169,605 as at 06/02/2013... AFM Auction Feb 2013   ...02.2013

It would seem that the other four Perenties for sale at the same yard have yet to find new owners.

With so much stock coming on to the market, you'd think the demand will be swamped pretty quickly.

The land rovers will probably be down to $5k before long. A $25k mog doesn't sound too crazy either...

Very happy to wait  ;D

This one may be worth bidding on as it is a fairly significant vehicle.  http://www.graysonline.com/lot/0061-5006043/motor-vehiclesmotor-cycles/land-rover-soft-top-2-1987-land-rover-110-4-x-4-soft-top

48-005. Currently configured as a soft top, but it is actially Initial Production vehicle 5, which was built, and is still plated as, a Command Post FFR.  Only 2 were built, This one went to the army, the other still in private hands, and I believe belongs to black Bill ?

Would be a good one to have as 1 of 2 of a kind.
