Fire tender body - NSW
« on: December 31, 2012, 11:11:11 PM »
Probably not in line with forum rules (Mods, delete if you must) but I felt it was important to make this information available to the correct people... (and it's not so much "for sale" as being donated to the cause)

I have a fire tender body to offload.

Now, as a whole, it is in very poor shape, but it has a few bits which will be of use. Doors, light covers, etc.

Conditions:
1) Must go to a good home and be used to renovate a Tender. Nomination by either of our resident REMLR fire tender gurus will score highly.
2) Any bits you don't need should be passed on to someone who does.
3) Take the whole thing, or at least strip the good bits off and dump the rest back at the tip (from where it was rescued) on the way past.

Located in Capertee NSW, about 1hr NW of Lithgow.

Will fit in/on a standard box trailer.

Firey (Pete) has first option if he wants.

(quick dirty advert I know, but I'm at work and it's NYE...)

Hey Shonks,

If no one else needs/wants it for a rebuild, I would come and get it and put it away for future use!.

Hey Shonky. Your garage looks like a tip.
You should clean it up.

My question - where is the vehicle is came from......

And it is good to see it being preserved for a future project.

All the best

My guess is it may have been converted to a normal Landrover years ago.
I met a fellow who used to do this with fire tenders and workshops. He'd buy them at the auctions, convert them and then on-sell them.
He still has a pump or two and some rear body bits floating around his property.
I've asked if he is interested in selling them but his answer was no.

Mick_Marsh

I understand its frustrating, but there is alot of gunnas in this world (me included at times)

The fire engines would have been a good buy to be converted as they would have been low KM vehicles and well looked after.

Enjoy your day
