No as its an email not an original. For instance with the reg office they only accept an original greenslip receipt, not any fax or email or print out other the original. Also, even with the rego and a set of plates in my hot hands, the actual vehicle won't be released from AFM depot until Monday. Its gives time for the EFT of funds to clear through.

Congrats on the purchase, that is probably the one I would have chosen out of that bunch (except RFSV's and 6x6's of course!)

Congrats on the purchase, that is probably the one I would have chosen out of that bunch (except RFSV's and 6x6's of course!)
I selected 7 vehicles from the bunch of 15 and then narrowed my choice down to one. Of the 7 selected and watched at the end by me, the average price was $9852. So mine was just under that price.

Do I want to set up as a radio truck display? Probably not. I may just get a good UHF unit and a good aerial to put on a cup holder. There was a recent thread about that. Thats it. The aux batts and generator can perhaps sort out a good camp fridge or something.

So why did I get a FFR? 50-257 is neat and tidy and has fresh parts such as the canopy hoops etc, but the thing about FFRs is this. At the local GRES depot -just like others around Australia- the white fleet and the green fleet are in the carpark bays inside the fences. The Mogs, buses, Ambulance, ginger beer stuff etc. The lot. There are exceptions however. FFRs and some RAEME vehicles sit under cover under lock and key, ready to roll because... well... because. Could be the same in all the bases I guess. So there is a better chance the unit was well looked after. Maybe. [crosses fingers, touches wood, strokes rabbid foot]

Markings like that are normally on the doors on FFR's aren't they?

:D well what a great weekend...
We spent Saturday at the AAVA event at Camden and then met Scott with his GS and the trailer on Sunday at the LROC Expo at Castle Hill. We camped both nights as guests of the AAVA at Camden. A big thank you for that. [ see pics http://camerajuice.com/AAVA-CPH-2014 ]

We left Camden about 0830 Monday morning for the icing on top, the delivery to us of the FFR at AFM Minto.
Got home by dark Monday and then today I have spent time in the FFR, checking things as you do.

1. When we parked after the run from Sydney we put a full sheet of old masonite underneath the FFR and then hit the showers. This was to catch any drips from anything underneath on Tuesday. Tuesday result, no drips.

2. Lights, switches, trailer conn, heater/demist/fan all operate nicely. Power steering seems off. Nah, we liked the normal Landy stuff. The steering and the 4cyl exhaust note really cements the Series feeling for me.

3. Sits on the road very nicely, no vague stuff, no vibration in the steering. Like a new car.  I went underneath this morning and saw all the new props and susp arm bushes but also spotted a new universal on the steering column shaft. And new front shocks.

4. Brakes with no problems. Also I fingered the disc rotors - no bumps or ridges or even a scratch. The handbrake cable and operation is good as you would want.

5. I appear to have a bonnet in "as new" condition that is perhaps from another vehicle as the cam paint does not match up.

6. The lockers are empty; no aux batteries, no jack, no brace, etc. The first thing we purchased whilst still in Campbelltown CBD was to visit 3 auto parts shops (all rejected or "We don't stock..") before finding a branch of Gasweld and buying a worthwhile 6 sided 27mm socket and matching long bar (1/2 in drive).

7. The first fix-up job is the positive battery lead terminal. The clamp is ok but the cable is nasty and loose/thin. Its probably using half the strands. ed--job done today at auto electrician using a big crimper size of one of those padlock cutters.

8. I just ordered key barrels for the doors and ign switch, all alike. Thank you REMLR people for pointing me to Roverparts.

9. Removed the rifle barrel clips from the tub bulkhead and the overhead rear red/wht light, labelled it all and put them away in a box. All with Stevie's help. Soaked up about a litre of WD40 AFM had applied with a mop or something.

10. I looked over the towbar bracket from KLR I got at the Expo. $100. I will need special bolts and they have to be shorter. And a backing plate to fit would be good.

:) looked over the Logbook for 50-257, starting from new, delivered to Bandiana Logistic Group. The 'Initial' service at 1500km was carried out by McPherson Motors Shepparton. Hmm.

At auction the odometer was at 129,543km
In March 2013, eighteen mths ago, there was a major service, at 129,538, by Transfield.
So it travelled 5km in 18mths.
I trust the odometer readings, the logbook is complete, the engine is the original one, the engine number was recorded on the delivery details page in 1990, and I checked the engine number and verified it today.

Hi Ross

Have you spoken to Cookey about this, apparently when he was running his own workshop in Moorebank, vehicles would be sent over from Holsworthy or DNSDC for service, when they next came for service the only mileage on the odo was the trip from his workshop and return.
