Hi there all
Well as we have a new forum - posting some pictures.
I found the Fire Tender as Kingoonya in 1999 - purchase it for $1000 dollars and drove it onto the trailer. Rebuild started in 2000 and like all restorations they never finish as there is always something else to be done. It was registered in 2007 and was driven to Cooma in 2008 (60th) where it won best Military........
These days with my work load is dosnt get out to alot of shows - but is still turns heads and a pleasure to drive.
As a few would know I work in the Emergency Services fields so passionate about preserving our firefighting history for future generations and have several Land Rover Fire Engines......
What is it - the Army manual quote:
The TRUCK, FIRE FIGHTING, ¾ Ton, GS, Fire Engine is basically a standard TRUCK, UTILITY, ¾ Ton, GS, Land-Rover, Series 2A, 109 WB, modified, and equipped with a high capacity water pump, water tank, boom spray and miscellaneous fire fighting equipment permitting the employment of pumped water and hand extinguishers to combat fires. The vehicle is capable of highway and cross-country operation. It has a range of approximately 250 miles on first class roads at a GVW of 5859lb. Fully equipped, it is capable of towing a trailer of 6732lb GVW (2244lb cross-country)."
All the best
