Convoy light
« on: December 08, 2012, 09:49:27 PM »
Can some one help. The wire from the rear convoy light, where in the harness does it go. Is there a wire in the harness for it.

And how does the switching work, ie how does the system switch off the normal lights

Hi,
Looking at the circuits in http://www.remlr.com/ the convoy light is switched on via the blackout switch, which also removes volts from the other headlights etc.
The series 2 drawing I looked at had a red with yellow stripe wire running from the blackout switch to the convoy lamps and nato socket.

The blackout switch has 2 changeover contacts. In normal position volts is fed to the stop lights flasher headlights etc, while in blackout position these are disconnected and volts are switched to the convoy lights.

Other models may be wired slightly different but the operation is probably the same.

Hope this helps

Regards
