Hi Rusty, The answer to your question is yes. There is an exhaust manifold to exhaust pipe gasket. The trick is to be able to get the exhaust nuts off the studs without damaging the threads or breaking the studs. I have used penetrene (or any similar product) on the nuts when the engine exhaust nuts are hot and later when cold and I have done this a few times. I have been lucky a number of times and not so lucky on others. Don't be in a hurry, and the use of heat on the nuts might be an option. Reassembling the exhaust to the manifold I have used brass nuts and a generous application of neverseize or copperkote high temperature paste. Check the alignment and if reasonably parallel, the gasket only will be sufficient, if in any doubt, use an exhaust high temperature gasket sealant as well. When the exhaust pipe is off, check for movement and clearances and adjust before re-assembly.
Hope this helps STDDIVER
