« on: August 18, 2021, 08:58:31 PM »
Hi guys,
I'm in the process of buying a 6x6 & would like to know how much & where you can buy the turbo & intercooler upgrade, are they readily or easily available & can be done by myself?

Some people are happy with a particular “upgrade kit” from one of the various Perentie aftermarket mobs, others are not happy with the kit.

Some options that people have fitted themselves are Holset HX30W, Holset HE221W, Garrett TD04 or TD05, and various other turbos.

One particular place that comes to mind that has an very good reputation for turboing Perenties is Momentum 4x4 at Wauchope in NSW.

Generally most people would be looking to upgrade the clutch at the same time as they’re doing the upgraded turbo setup, otherwise it’ll probably be a priority immediately after the first time you tickle the accelerator pedal...

My turbo died. I really don't understand how. Where can I find good deals?

I recently upgraded my Land Rover Defender with a turbo and intercooler kit, aiming for better performance and efficiency. I found what I was looking for at Goldfarb, where I purchased the kit for around $1,200. The upgrade has significantly improved the vehicle's power and torque, making it much more responsive and enjoyable to drive.

The kit came with all the necessary parts and instructions, making the installation process manageable. I was able to install it myself over a weekend, thanks to my moderate mechanical skills and having the right tools on hand.
