Question - REMLR and Unimog
« on: April 03, 2023, 03:04:55 PM »
Just a thought, I was wondering if members of this site, would consider an ex military Mercedes Unimog topic or chapter.  2 Reasons, REMLR is an excellent resource and the library could benefit from the range of unimog publications and, secondly, I am aware of a few members who are owners of unimogs and I was wondering if a chat section might be something members might be interested in?  Bits for sale, parts needed etc,  By way of discussion, the Inter section has been a great help with the AACO restorations and reading the articles have been great, so could we consider this for the mogs?

Over to the members - I'd be interested for one.  Love to hear your thoughts team?

There’s already a child board under Misc Vehicles…

Maybe it’s time for it be promoted up the ranks ?

Cheers.

Are we talking about REMLR or the REMLR Forum - two different aspects of the REMLR family of information.

Thanks for the quick reply and interest -

My comment to AGAS 5 is that I beleive it would be good to be promoted within the REMLR ranks and give it a posting within REMLR -

My thinking was to put it out there, and fc101 has raised a good point, again, to start discusssion, I was thinking it would be in the forum and have its own call sign so to speak, just the way the Inter Chapter has, but it would be good for the brains trust to have some input.

Hope that's kicked the tiller onto a course that will suit as many as possible?

Appreciate all comments!   Thanks lots

My 2c worth...

Although I don’t have a Unimog myself, I’d be only too happy to see them included in the REMLR site just like we did with Army International 👍

Thanks AGAS 5, Garry, Phil and Greg, for your comments, I didn't think about the remaining Army fleet, but a great idea nonetheless.  Just have to go through the moderator and look at the next steps, if allowed.

I'd be happy to upload the EMEI and manuals if that would help.

Cheers all!

I’d probably assess the level of interest in ALL the rest of the variety of vehicles used by our Military.

I recall there was some trepidation regarding the inclusion of Internationals back in the day - a decision which turned out to be very popular and well supported.

A datsun 180b station wagon or a Nissan Pintara of the CL fleet may not be so interesting to the membership.

Just my thoughts

Cheers
